If Comair is indeed bought by RAH, precedence would not lean in Comairs favor. It would be better for Comair to be bought by Mesa. Better chance for some seniority, and some good compromise. RAH MEC won't budge an inch. While I am thankful to have benefited from our MEC's toughness, it would not bod well for our Comair bretheren I fear.

Well certainly DAL's market Cap is worthless, but how much is DAL is worth? That's a different question. I suspect you'd have to pay significantly more than DAL's market cap to acquire the airline.

No kidding. The last I heard, Delta was $28 billion in the hole and burning through $5 - $6 million a day.

I didn't know if Mesa bought someone they would have to merge. Good way to prevent a little bit of whipsaw.

I think it's going to be CHQ that is forced to buy Comair anyways. They've been getting threats that they're going to lose their contracts lately.

Guys. After being 5hit on and bad mouthed by Comair Pilots for years, do you think the pilots would look kindly on a seniority list merger? I would guess not.

Bedford is looking for a way out of the small RJ business, not another anchor to keep him in. We operate an single brand fleet, EMB. Bringing on the CRJ is a HUGE cost and a logistic nightmare.

We are in the same position that Mesabe as 7 years ago. Company increased 5 fold with no infrastrucure to support it. You can't get a phone call returned from any department @ HQ. Bringing on another airline & another fleet type would be a scary thought.

Look for MESA to buy CMR if anyone. Orstein has the $$$ and the CRJ's in place.

Read the first paragraph of the CHQ scope clause carefully.

1. This Agreement covers the company, any subsidiary of the

if anything's going to help this profession, lashing out at another pilot group as soon as you're given the opportunity is probably not the answer. have you not been in this industry long enough to have a few friends here and there who have lucked into some good or bad situations? if the current cut-throat competition between regionals continues, each will take its turn rising to the top for a few years with stronger contracts only to implode when they become uncompetitive. RAH is currently in the strange position of being a fairly well compensated regional. do not think your s#!% doesn't stink.

I don't think it's a majority but I have no way of knowing. The complexion of the Comair pilot group has changed a lot in the last five years. Some are bringing baggage with them from other airlines.

But I know what happened at Chautauqua. I know you guys voted down Jets for Jobs. I know Republic was then created during your negotiations with ALPA's blessing in order to place US Airways furloughees in there and the effect that whipsaw had on your bargaining. Not a proud moment to be an ALPA member.

What a lot of people don't know is that when Delta bought both ASA and Comair, the Comair pilots offered DOH to ASA even though Comair could have demanded much more. Of course ALPA was too weak to force the merger...twice...but in the intra union meetings Comair offered ASA DOH...twice.
When there was an attempt to merge ASA and Comair, the first words out of Comairs mouth were "DOH."
Its interesting now that a rumor about Republic buying Comair has surfaced, the first words out of their mouths is "staple."

Musta been that gimpy-azz hand that slowed him down. You back to work yet?

Tomorrow is the day. The therapist "discharged" me from having to wear the splint and introduced me to much more aggressive stretching and strength building this past week. It's still stiff (especially in the morning), but the doctor said I'm right where I should be and is pleased with my progress. My hand is still weak, I squeezed 130 lbs with my left hand, and only about 40 lbs with my right yesterday, but most of that was due to the skin being very sensative in the area between my thumb and forefinger (it really hurt to squeeze harder).

But it feels much stronger than before, the nerve sensation is coming back quickly (especially in the area of my thumbprint, where it matters most), and the stretching feels like it's really helping. Past the 6 week point, there is much less chance of damaging the repaired tendon, so I can really start strengthening it now, whereas before it was simply manual movement to prevent scar tissue from binding up the joint.
