Seems new announcements occurring twice a day the last few weeks
5 major initiatives are being completed, and the 5 year plan is looking up-

I just heard rumors of 1000 new hires over next two years, 350 in 2015 as the rest of air tran transitions, and 650 in '16
Flight attendant training is ramping up
Might be I could see a 10 year upgrade after all or close to it.
Domestic looks as big as international
I've been off the planet with the bidness and child
What are you all hearing?

That we are adding seats but no hulls. Flattish quo

How does that jive with 1000 new hires?
^^^wishful thinking??

Simply telling the Street what they want to hear. Nothing to see. Move along.

I completely agree it's not the best news to hear but it is good news. SWA is adding seats left and right which is adding revenue which is adding profitability which is adding profit sharing.

SWA is upguauging the fleet which is good for the bottom line. Kelly has already said he expects 20% ROIC in 2015, well exceeding the magic 15 he has stated for years what was needed for expansion.

As I said, it's not great news for pilots in the short term but it is certainly all adding up to realistic expansion expectations in the short rather than long term. All in all it is much preferable to shrinking the airline. It could be a LOT worse.

Gassing us up so that what ever they put in front of us will pass with 87% yes vote.

If that's the case, then why are they even bothering to hire?

The current group will vote YES!, by a large margin, on anything put in front of them.

I see it as even more of a pay cut due to over manning.
