I actually love these GL against the SWA dudes threads, but some of this is ridiculous.

Here's some truth:

If a pilot was hired in 2000 by Delta and another at SWA, the Delta pilot would have had better career expectations than one hired at SWA. That same assertion could be made today, no question.
BUT, looking at history that same pilot hired at Delta couldn't carry the jockstrap of the pilot hired at SWA, with regards to personal earnings.

I will gladly submit that I don't foresee the same demise of the airlines over the past 13 years, which is good for all of us.

Also, in my opinion a Delta pilot has the opportunity to fly to more great destinations compared to SWA...........but since I fly the 190 at JB I can't say a dang thing to either pilot

Jockstrap? You mean diaper, right? Those guys are a bunch of babies.

Anyway, I think the Corndogs did a lot better pay wise during the legacy BKs, but since then the Widebody pay has surpassed the Corndog pay, and then add retirements that will intensify as the decade goes on, adding extra premium pay (or greenslips as they are called at DL), which will only boost those paychecks. Then add profit sharing, which will double this year compared to last, and may triple next year due to lower oil prices.

The Corndogs have done well pay wise and get paid a lot to fly to West Texas towns and Islip, NY. But, their boss doesn't want to add bag fees which everyone else uses and pax have seemed to accept for the most part. Seeing that, I don't know if they can increase their pay substantially. The legacies on the other hand, have BILLIONS of reasons to, and profit sharing only adds to it.

This ^^^^ is exactly what a jealous Deltoid looks like with regards to Southwest crushing it the past 14 years as Delta faltered and then went into bankruptcy. Genny just can't get over it. I guess he never will.

And really it had nothing to do with the DL pilots, just piss poor management there. Just ran the place into the ground.

Should I mail him some SW jockstraps? Now that was damn funny. Thanks CD.

No Red, you are confusing jockstraps with your "depends." Those tight turns intra Texas don't give you enough time to run to the can. Man slider, you stink!
