I was thinking the same thing SS

Want to keep on- or is my apology safe bc you don't really understand the last 20 years in the airlines?

Hey I'm all for the damn things if they payed the same. But when you ultimately agree to fly em for the rates they pay at the regionals (because your blended rate just isn't going to happen), then 200 737s get replaced with Qs, you will understand my point. You'll be scratching your head wondering how the hell you ended up back at a regional.

I'll let you have the last word because as most everyone else around here has found out, you will anyway. About this, or the in-room workout, or on dating advice, etc. You are a wealth of information and knowledge. Thank you for saving our future.

Ha Ha that's some funny stuff right there

You need to ease up on whatever you're drinkin or smokin

This is where Wave's comment about wannabe-scab Maru came from:

I think Flopgut has some inside knowledge regarding the mess perpetuated by the UAL MEC in 86 and frankly I never crossed a line but I would cross a UAL line.

Unless, of course, it was the idea of a SWA strike that amused you. While that is a humorous thought, it's no more so than a guy who can't wait to cross a picket line. Especially a nimwit has-been.

Aww, sensitive feelers -

I disagree with your assessment of reality.

Please explain why 40 years ago it would work, but not today-
We have one pay rate now.

SWA was a new airline 40 years ago. It would have been the normal pay rate. You will never get the votes for a pay cut now. It simply won't happen. We will have to agree to disagree. Please go back in history and find a few examples where pilots voted for a decrease in pay. Especially when the company is experiencing record profits. I agree with all of your points about why a blended rate is good and I would probably vote for it. I just don't see it happening.

Seems we agree on more than we disagree
The point would have to be made for sure. The argument laid out
IMO, sooner than later, BEFORE another type is announced.
We prepare for an awful lot of contingencies, I hope Swapa prepares for this well ahead

Wave: Assume SWA acquires 10 B787s. Would you be happy if it paid current SWAPA rates or do you think an upward 'blend' would be required?

Upward blend would be required
I'm a capitalist through and through.
If the excuse for airlines not paying us when we flew turboprops was bc they didn't have enough seats to generate enough revenue to pay us, they can't add more seats and then not pay us.

To that end, the company owes us for the -800's now that it's fairly clear we'll exceed our financial performance goals.

To me, we should start that blended rate now
