I don't cut inside the FAF, period.
So you won't sidestep in PHX, MCO, LAX etc..? Sometimes you end up inside the FAF if you accept it. What is the AAI policy on that?
Uhhh, all of them. SWA requires unrestricted type, meaning, circling required.PS . . . How many jet type ratings are on your certificate without a limitation on circling? I'm betting zero.
Pu$$y!
Well that explains the 10 mile downwinds i've experienced. If you can't land an airplane from abeam the numbers, you just plain suck. Also, if you land at the wrong airport, you would suck also.
I have no desire to turn into a group of morons who can't do a visual rolling out stable at 1000'
A quick google search of: "What US airline is safest?", SWA consistently is near the top globaly and certainly one of the best ranked US airlines. So in answer to your question about how long can they get away with their little mistakes I will say a long time since their record is consistently near the top of the heap when measuring safety.SWA IMHO is like a CAT who has used up 8 of 9 lives. How much longer can they get away with their feisty little mistakes?
How many -800's have you flown dicko?
I like sidestepping as much as the next guy, but if you want to cover all your bases, you should review the landing data for that runway and cover it in your brief.
The only surprise I like is what's on tap at the hotel.![]()
Zero.
Like all AirTran 73 pilots, we've received differences training on it in the sim.We starting that about eight years ago. Yes, I'm familiar with the higher approach speeds etc.
You understand the point I was making. How is your question relevant ?
Well, my point is you and I have both tail skidded the same number of -800's
What was your point?
That we should be deeply concerned by a continuing trend that's heading in the wrong direction. My fear is that we're not evolving fast enough.
What exactly is an "emergency takeoff"?
