From an undisclosed source (of course) who had an interview: $60K, but must move to a Flex crew base. I will leave it up to others to debate whether that's a fair starting salary for a new hire FO, but personally I would hate to try to raise a family on that in a major metropolitan area. Depends on the desperation level of the individual I guess.

That's been the starting pay since 2007. However with your per diem it's about 65k. The base thing has never changed that was always the case, SUPPOSED to live in one of their gateways. There are guys who live in CLT and commute to EWR several florida guys live all over FLA but the base is FLL etc. Most try to be within 1.5 hrs since that is the callout.

Can't be that bad since every FO AT FLEXJET makes more than probably all pilots at FLOPS and people want to work there so no shortage of applicants. Last I heard 7 year FO Pay at Flexjet is more than 15 year Hawker Capt pay at FLOPS.

Is that $60k higher or lower than FLOPS starting pay? If we are going to debate the fairness, we need to compare the two.

However with your per diem it's about 65k.

Please. I beg you. STOP considering per diem as part of your compensation. It is REIMBURSEMENT for expenses incurred while on the road in service of the employer. Meager reimbursement at that.

Meanwhile, best of luck to the FO furlough guys in making the best choice for their families.

I appreciate the guys from Flops arguing that I'm not paid enough. I'll never turn down a pay raise! :)

It is in all of our best interests that you are paid well for the work you do.
May you get a raise which will raise the bar for all in the new year.

Don't let your jaw hit the ground when you see this!

First year pay at Flexjet is around $64k based on a 16 schedule. With hourly OT and per diem that would come up to around $70k. A sixth year FO on seventh year pay that I know made $98k, including OT, bonus and per diem, doing mostly 16 days with an occasional 17 schedule.

I was trying to see my ytd, but adp won't let me sign in.

!!!!AAARRRGGGGGG!!!!!!

Per diem is NOT part of your COMPENSATION!!!!! STOP including it in your calculations to come up with how much you'll "make" at Flex, or Options, or wherever!

Jeez!

Look, I get it, but at the end of the year it's on my W2 and I used that money to live on. I rarely, if ever, spend the entire daily per diem amount so I end up making money with it. That's why I consider it. Just depends on how you look at it.

Hmmmm ... I'm one of those FO furloughees and I have yet to hear anything from Flex or FO ... must be my previous involvement with the 1108 ...

Supposedly calling in order but, calling has stopped pending the Jan 28 conference call and staffing plan announcements.

Most FLOPs guys aren't interested because of the pay, moving to a base, or starting over at the bottom.

Kind of confused about the pay. Is Flexjet pay less than FLOPS pay? I have always been under the impression that our pay was higher than yours. Is that not the case? My source is APC, and I know they have some lag time and inaccuracies.

By my math, and correct me if I'm wrong, I think FO does 8/7's. That comes out to around 192 days per year. At their 7th year rate, that's around $307/day. Our 7th year pay is $402. Typically, we work 195-208 days per year.

The pay I was referring to was the amount they make at their current jobs, not a comparison of FLOPs/Flex pay rates.

staffing plan?

I get you now. And yes, if the jan 28/29 announcements mean recalls, keep your options open.

The Flt Opts furloughed guys I've talked to are upset at not being recalled. This is partly because if they were recalled their pay would be equal to the pay (based on years in service and seat position as outlined in the CBA) they left with. I think some of these guys were in year 8 or 9 when they were furloughed.

So yea Flight Options pay is lower then Flex but not 8 years less.

Guys have basically told me, "I'm not moving my family to a major city (to comply with Flex domicile policy) for sixty grand. Looks like Flex is not getting a lot of takers.

There's no harm in not coming over to Flex anyway. When they merge the companies they will be brought back at their current seniority level. Curious: the furloughed FO pilots that did come over did not have to resign their sen number. That should be interesting!

I suppose I should clarify a bit: As far as I know, nobody has actually received a firm offer of employment from Flex. Some FO furloughees have been interviewed, for potential placement into a hiring pool. The 60K starting pay was what the interviewees were told to expect if hired, along with the standard Flexjet benefits package. I apologize if my initial post misled people into thinking that there had been actual offers.

Pretty sure one has been hired.

Other than making more money KR main goal is getting rid of the Union. That way he and his select team of mangers can run the company how they want to with fear and intimidation....and that folks should give you pause and make you think before you check yes or no. Or vote for Ed and his boys.....
