I was curious when SWA will or did start interviews. Has anybody here been called for or already been through an interview? If so, what are they telling you about class dates etc. Rumor now is 300 new hires next year.

UMMMM NO, there is not 200 this year. The official 200 is for 2014 even though they are planning one class in December this year. rumor is the 200 went to 300.

Check Airman on the jumpseat last week told me they were going to hire 360. Good news for a lot of people. Especially those of us on the bottom of the list! :)

Stay tuned something big must be coming!!!

Hopefully, but most likely its due to Part 117, and attrition. By attrition I mean retirements and a number of AirTran pilots and junior RSW pilots jumping ship to the legacies. With the legacies massive retirements, and huge hiring, they would most likely be a better career if you get in early. SWA is great but we lack any sort of leadership. The term "rudderless ship" is mentioned often in the crew rooms. Still a great place to work though.

Oh and we are in section 6 now also. Just sayin.

I'd happily be junior to you, Cherry!

Hope you get in. Having folks that want to work here makes a difference. It is still a great job with outstanding employees. And no I don't drink the blue coolaid. I stopped drinking the company juice after furlough number 1. (I'm now up to furlough 3.)

Good luck to all!!!!!

They showed a slide with these jumping ship numbers, to date, zero ship jumpers, plenty of medicals, retirements, etc.
