The MOU limits domestic codesharing to 15%, excluding HA and AS carveouts.

LCC already does a fair amount of domestic code-sharing with United. That goes away along with the Star Alliance. Is the net change more or less code-sharing? Honest question.

Edit: looks like US Airways operates 1,320 mainline flights per day/ 1,895 express flights. and according to this article, has 540 United Codeshares. Not sure exactly how the 15% is calculated but it would seem to be exceeded already.

They are busy getting ready to hire 200 over there they don't need to take on the 300 joining the East by the end of 2013.

it'll be at least a year till the HR depts are merged - 24 months to a single certificate.

Where are you puling these numbers from? 300 by years end, with half the year gone? I doubt it.

USAir has hired about 140 so far this year. I've heard between 250-300 total for 2013. I heard AA wanted to hire 600 by the end of 2014, time will tell.

I'm sorry for not being clear and correct me if I'm wrong, but POR begins 100% codesharing for AA and US Airways. This is the short-term method for linking the network.

I think we'd see realigned pairing construction within the first few months. West and East do a fair amount of flying for each other, but imagine how much flying West/East will do for AA and visa versa.

Dual basing could also happen?It is less efficient, but not uncommon.

I wonder if the first step will be the elimination of the East/West fences in regards to aircraft and maybe bases. In the latest CQT course 3/Fleet update there was a 15 slide presentation of the East/West A320 differences.

Kirby said in a crew news the company can allow east and west to fly each other's metal on the day of the POR. I think the differences slides may be a very telling.

BTW, aren't you supposed to wait until the last day to do distance learning?
