Hideous tail! Who designed that thing. The new Logo looks pretty good, but why didn't they put the new logo on the tail? The tail is way over the top and looks like a bar code instead of an American Flag. They should've just done what United did and just toss the American name on the current US Airways livery.

Did ASA have a hand in this? Must have been the same group that came up with the SureJet thing.

Yuck. No class or stateliness... Garish and about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

The one thing that's been consistent throughout the decades, and now it's gone.

Why is it that every bankrupt airline can't afford to pay its agreed contracts with labor, but has enough to repaint the fleet?

Obviously everybody has different taste. I for one don't think it looks bad. The patriotic side of me always liked the flag on the tail of North American's aircraft and the new AA livery kind of reminds me of that. To each his own I guess.

I watched the new American video on their website. Horton looks likes he's aged 10 years during this process. I guess treating employees like crap and lying to yourself prematurely ages a person.

Considering how pilots hate change, the fact that some on here actually like it means it's pretty good. On a side note, I guess the merged company will still be American. I would have put money on American Airways.

I like the lettering down the side, but the tail is pretty hideous.

I was thinking the same thing.

They were the last of the nice looking livery left IMO.

My favorite was the last TWA paint job. My least favorite was the United dark gray on dark blue.
