Virgin America will be debuting new uniforms Aug 8th, including new uniforms for their pilots. In my opinion, I think it looks sharp, and finally a step forward in breaking the mold of the typical pilot mentality.

Wonder how many people here agree, and how many disagree? I'm thinking there's a ton of guys who still insist that the hat and double breasted blazer make them look like captain-god.

Are you serious? Sharp looking? How do you think its going to look on a 300lb pilot? Also, if a plane crashes and the airport cfr are looking for the captain, well, good luck finding him.

From a guy wearing a blue shirt, that looks freakin' ridiculous. I just can't decide which is worse - that pilot 'uniform' or the ones Skybus wore.

I still think Skybus takes the cake with their Ranger McDufus outfit but this is a close second. Looks like they're trying to bring back Disco.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! And I thought that black outfit was bad. That is even worse!

Are you a pilot or a FA? The passenger is not going to be able to tell.

Why is a company that loses millions every quarter spending money on new "outfits"?

Next they will have you all wearing dresses and heels...

I think I'd be pissed at Company if I were a VA crewmember! I'd tell Mgmt to " knock it off on the hipster stuff until we can post a profit! This is my career.....not some glittery San Fran experiment!"
I would feel like the wife who doesn't realize family finances are in jeopardy, cuz hubby keeps spending $$$$ to continue the illusion that everything's fine!

Can you still wear the black shirt once this polo thing comes out? I can't imagine the pilots are very pleased.

On second thought, it's great!! Just a quick shucking of the eppaulettes into the pocket and you can head straight to the hotel bar upon check-in!

Its ironic you can quote Holmes the way you do.

Most of the uniform crap that is being discussed is for the in-flight. The pilot shirts are finally more of the traditional style even if they are grey. How can this not be considered better? Black or grey? Who cares?

This new uniform SUCKS!! I want the "Johnny Cash" back!! Should also show all you "nay sayers" that there is money being made here at Virgin. If we are wasting money on this stupid crap...then there is definitely money in the cookie jar.

That's an insult to Johnny Cash. They're more like eurotrash.

Sure there's money being made, there is just a whole lot more being spent; apparently on ugly, eh hem, uglier new uniforms.
