Missed it again......way to go Congress! Perhaps we can form a committee to study why we missed it this time, again???? Perhaps because we're still waiting for the airline lobbies to pay us our bribes.....I mean money to side with them.....

Just another example of the government workers in 'Merika feeling absolutely zero pressure to complete a quality job in a timely manner. They are entitled to above market wages, light workloads, extreme job security, pensions, and sweet benefits that all the rest of us pay for. With all the extra cash coming in from lobbyists on this topic why on Earth would they stop the gravy train?

FAA: Federally Aiding Airlines.

Can't blame the FAA on this one. This is a result of trade associations and congress. I know a lot of FAAers putting in extra time trying to get this out but can't get beyond the red tape.

The article says they missed the August 1 deadline, and then missed the deadline extension of Nov 30. Does anyone know if they threw out another BS "deadline" to aim for?

You must be talking about Congress. Because none of that is true at the FAA.

However, I do believe that government employees will become the poster child for spending cuts. It's much easier to fool the general public into believing things like which you wrote, than really addressing the problems.

Yea, I've been fooled by a lifetime of experience.

I'm just gullible for thinking that an overreaching incompetent federal government is unacceptable. Wouldn't it be nice if fools like me didn't have a vote? Then you could just collect our revenues and distribute them to your buddies without having to care what we think.

I don't even know where to begin except to say this could be one of the most ignorant posts ever. Exactly what government are you referring to? It isn't the US government workforce, that's certain.

I have an idea, why don't you walk up to the nearest police officer and tell them about the "sweet benefits" you pay for and how they're overpaid? Better yet, tell them about all the benefits you happily gave up so you could do this job and then look down upon those not desperate enough to do the same in their profession.

You think the average FAA employee enjoys the "sweet benefits" you mentioned? Really? Maybe you should look into it sometime rather than going upstairs and asking daddy's opinion.

*sigh* Look, I'm not a liberal. I know it would really help your "argument" if I were, but I'm not.

However, I do work for the FAA (The Big Evil Government, in your world). If you wouldn't mind, please show me all the "sweet bennefits" I'm getting, my awesome retirement, and how I'm so overpaid compared to my private industry counterpart.

What I could do, is use your ignorant logic and say that the only reason I pay so much for airfare is because of you overpaid (I heard you make $250K/year), underworked (I heard you only work 75 hours a month), and unionized (ah yes, the "evil" unions) pilots.

...or is that not accurate?

What's really sad is that people who listen/watch CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc. can't seperate fact from entertainment/opinion. THOSE are the voters that scare me.
