Next thing you'll tell me is that we need your RSV rules so as not to upset Jerry.

I've never argued for taking concessions to help the company. I'm just saying that PBS has given me better schedules and improved my QOL. Going back to line bidding could be a concession from my point of view. Pardon me if I agree with someone who is having the same positive experience.

i agree... completely... i do NOT want to go back to line bidding. PBS has been a tremendous improvement

I'll third this. I have no interest in going back to line bidding, ever. Yes, I know all about bad day / worse day and your line improvement windows.... Still not interested. I also know about something you legacy Expressjet guys might not have figured out yet. ASA management's ability to invent stuff that will take away your ability to utilize these tools. Ever heard of a red arrow day? Neither did we until they just magically appeared on the open-time board. And don't think for a second that they view anything in your contract as water tight. They operate under the theory "do what we want now, worry about the grievance when it's heard three years from now." OH and I'm for PBS because I like it, not because I'm scared of management. I will be fine long after this place is under or I move on.

We got to keep something, amazing!

We got your management for the most part, new uniforms, new FOM formatted to yours, your ac logbooks (Discrepancy Report), and we are already adopting many of your cockpit and cabin procedures. Yes, y'all finally got to keep "something," I'm sure you'll miss the mandatory hats as well.

Me thinks the reason we got rid of the hats was to save the Co the expense of buying everyone new hats. Say around $80 a pop times what, 3800 pilots? 300+ grand man!

But glad they're optional as well. :smash:

You're a smart guy and I respect your opinion.

But good grief man, who many times do we need to cover it?

YOU DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO THE SH1TTY/SUBSTANDARD LINE BID SYSEM THAT ASA USED TO HAVE.

AGAIN, if the ASA side of the house ACTUALLY did as much research on the XJT line bid work rules as the other way around, these discussions would ALL be different.

I've heard all about your line bidding process. But one of the facts is the bottom (roughly) 30% of your list is on reserve and all those guys are fling all the crap that you trade away with no choice but to do it. On our side its like 5% reserve and 95% of us get to choose what we want to fly. Even some of the most junior people, who under ANY line bidding would be flying all the weekends, can eek out a weekend here and there with PBS. There is just SO much variety and so many people with so many different ideas of what they want to fly, that pretty much everyone seems to get about what they want, or are at least happy with what they get.

"heard" all about it, eh? Have you read the CBA language, or sat by an XJT crew member during the ILIW/SLIW and seen it live yourself?

And so can an XJT pilot under the line bid ILIW/SLIW. Also, have you read the language pertaining to bad day/worse day trades?

See above. There's enough open time that an XJT pilot can do the EXACT same thing.

Sorry man, but this "heard all about it" sh1t has got to stop and SOME of you guys REALLY need to start doing your research.

I "heard about it" from YOU all. So am I getting miss information? Are YOU not telling me how it works? Hmmm...
Have you read our PBS section? Tell me the points you don't like about it.
I'm not going to keep this up because there is no point. Suffice to say I will never vote to go back to line bidding. I don't need to trade all around to get the trips I want with PBS. I get it from the start.
You will never vote for PBS because you feel that your system is better. Fine. I hope to the hell out of all of this before we get a contract anyway. And at the rate its going that should be no problem.

How senior are you in your seat?

+1

Under PBS you dont need all that "ILIW/SLIW" stuff. Besides, there is no way ASA mgt will ever let something like that into the contract.
