Wow, Sacka. You're actually posting the truth. Except I refused to pay $8K to qualify for an interview.
Did I mention that we are -800s in less than 180 days? They will allow for decrease in airframes and block hours with constant ASMs.
I flew with a senior guy last week that wants Gary to "man up and admit that we have overhired and fix it." Because he "should not have to continue to suffer through decreased line totals and unproductive trips." "Gary owes it to the employees and shareholders to do the right thing here and get rid of all the probies NOW then take a good hard look at the 2008 group." Because he "has lost $40000/year in earnings since 2006." He thinks we need to put out at least 400.
The fact is that the senior guys here normally get what they want. It (hopefully) won't go as far as this guy wants it to but the top portion of the list will be really unhappy if we hire.
So......is anyone getting contacted for interviews?

Overheard the LAS chief say that the time from interview to class will be so short that those with types will get the jobs (over those without)....
Do they know that they will be junior FOREVER? They will be below all of the young Airtran pilots, who will not move a seat for decades. That means every weekend at a layover somewhere in Texas, and every holiday in Oklahoma or maybe Arkansas. Hopefully they know this going into the interview....
Bye Bye---General Lee
Says the 15 year and counting First Officer Genital Lee Davis.
How about that ever expanding codeshare and the Valujet wage scale.....

Your FOs are going to be saying the same thing. The big difference now is that your airline isn't as profitable as it was, the merger will take a lot of cash away and cause problems, and a younger group is coming in, with very few retirements for the next decade. Can you dispute any of that? You can't. Enjoy your next leg to LIT.
Bye Bye---General Lee
Fact...our 3 or 4 year 737 F/O's are making MORE than you do as a 15 year international, wide body position reporter.
Buh Bye--General Sherman
Hmmmm....according to APC: 4 yr WN FO=$115/hr.
top scale DL wide body FO=about $150/hr. ($4/hr intl override on there and averaging the 2 widebody fleets. )
in my mind 150 is more than 115...but I am just a cargo pilot so what the he11 do I know.

Ummm...there are are a little more to our pay and work rules than that. With time and a half or double time etc. The real monthly and yearly pay rates far exceed that...but if it makes you guys happy....stick with that in your ALPA negotiating strategy sessions.....Management leaves the room snickering and shaking their heads wondering where ALPA finds these guys......
So WN is the only company with work rules and double time or time and a half? Do you really believe that?
