pilot who wears an optional hat = issues
Slacks and a golf shirt would be fine with me.
Bermuda shorts, wife-beater and flip flops!!!
You don't like the hat....fine.. I can't stand when you take shots at guys who do like it.
I look forward to the day when the only airline uniform is Dockers, golf shirts and sneakers.![]()
Of course....maybe you should have chosen another profession or a segment of aviation where you could dress casual.
Then you guys wonder why no one (including management) respects you.
You don't have to exaggerate. About the only thing that has changed in most pilot uniforms since Pan Am began flying to Havana is the hat--or more specifically, the lack of one.
If you really want to piss about the recent lack of glamor in Pilot uniforms, we can start with the leather jacket.

Dress nice. That will solve all problems with MGT and the public will love flying again.
Rght....You totally missed the point, but what can one expect from someone who calls himself "RJLoser."
Maybe you missed the point.
Funny, I just had to spend some time in MSP. All the Delta mainline guys wear hats. All the commuter pilots slack around with no hats. Guess which group looks more professional?

Amen!Orville and Wilbur, supersonic flight, and the day hats became optional at ASA/ExpressJet. Today is a monumental day in aviation history; the hat is dead, praise God...

Well, its all about public perception. Wear your uniform with pride, including the hat, and the passengers feel comfortable. Slouch around with no hat, no tie, iPod and you look like a dork.
A Woody woodpecker avatar is what makes one look like a dork
While I agree it is vital that we all look professional, if hats truly made the difference in public opinion, TSA would be wearing them.
You obviously are unaware of what Woody represents. I attribute that to your youth.
