ALPA 101: Delay until you can't whine any more while trying to get your way. Even if terribly detrimental to your pilot group and to the utter dismay, ire and consternation of your future employer. Increase the exceedingly real chance of fragmentation at all costs. Then point fingers and further diminish the collective perception of the union while also tarnishing the reputation of airline pilots across the country. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ACT IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER OR LET INTEGRITY AND GOOD CHARACTER CLOUD YOUR JUDGMENT. Always suppress thoughts of being some of the luckiest clowns on the planet and continue to tell yourself "You deserve it".

The AirTran ALPA MEC has decided to delay (yet again...) their review of the Agreement in Principle that was AGREED to weeks ago. They have apparently delayed their little get together INDEFINITELY. No vote on the AIP/LOA is scheduled at this time. These guys are about as useful as a football bat...

It appears the chances of the Airtran crewmembers having a say in their future is diminishing by the day.

I honestly don't understand. Don't you guys WANT a say?

Gup

Hey, I agree with 400-Ahole!

Ruh-roh! The Mayans must be right. None of this will matter by 2012!

You don't? You honestly believe their idea of a "SAY" is rolling over for a seniority grab by SWA F/Os?

The smartest thing AAI guys could do is kick this POS to an arbitrator.

It's our transition team that needs more time to ensure all the protections in the AGI are put into writing so that a 3 year old can understand it (ironically, it was a captain of yours that just used these exact words recently in conversation with two of our pilots, guess there is some frustration with some gray language in your own contract). Other than our MEC giving guidance to accomplish this, they can't even be briefed on the final package until it's done. While this may be frustrating to you, this transition team and the product they bring back, is SWAPA and WN mgmt's only hope of not going to arbitration. It is in your best interest as well that they be given the opportunity to do the best job they can.

There is a significant number in our group encouraging the MEC not to send it out for a vote. The more palatable the final package is and the stronger the language of protection, may be the only way this even makes it the pilot group for a vote. Even then it's not a slam dunk, but everyone will have done their due diligence.

Nice response, but if you think SWA or SWAPA is concerned with arbitration you are barking up the wrong tree. What is obvious is your unions inability to make a decision. It's like bush league. You are being played by your second rate attorney, who is billing you guys for every "revision". For your own sake I would hope you guys figure it out before SWA runs out of patience.

Wow....

And Delta guys are called arrogant....this is rich!

There is a rumor going around that the AAI Comm Chair quit recently. Any truth to that?
Yes, he resigned voluntarily. He wasn't in ANY way asked to leave. Completely unrelated to the SLI, but rather an internal struggle from replacing T.O. as the Vice-Chair and the resultant delegation of duties from our MEC Chair,,, when you can find him.

You guys can circle jerk each other all you want by making fun of my jacket, but that still doesn't clear up you still being jackholes does it?

I dont give sht if you sen it to the tooth fairy just do something, either send it out for a vote or just say no!
What I do find interesting is what GK is going to do, he can either ignore the AT mec and then he is fkd for life (since both AT and SWAPA willl think he is a pushover or he can start to play hardball)

I wonder if its more of trying to "ice the kicker" or if its a passive agressive maneuver to send this to arbitration without ever voting on it.
