"Hey there big guy...no ones talking "nuclear option", staple, different pay rates for the 717 etc...no threats"...........

Exactly what was received in our "Welcome" Fedex mailer. "717 rates being negotiated" and "IF" the seniority lists are merged. Most assuredly so.

Who was the author of the cover letter for the packet?

Ty,

What part of the numbers below do you not understand?

AAI most senior CA rate 163/hr X 70hr guarantee = 11,410 per month.

SW most senior FO rate 130.24/trip X 87 guarantee = 11,330 per month.

This is using your NEW payrates as well.

Does anyone see the irony here?

Where comparing FO's to CA's here! Unbelievable.

At the end of the year Ty, believe me the FO's W-2 is going to be larger.

Could not have said it better, Red.

I am SWA 5th year F/O who is going to make over $200,000 this year. Last year I cleared $178,000

Ok as you can see from the number of times I have posted on here, I don't often. All I have to say is do you have a life, if you do great? Weekends off, holidays, vacation when you want? I make a total of 100K a year and enjoy what I have. If you say yes to any of to the above I will trade emails with you and the past years schedules. It ain't about money. Life is good. Good luck to you all. I really would like to see your schedules LeeRoyJenkins if it's true.

Never mind. Just enough drinks on the road. Hope it works out for all.

A 5 year FO making $200k is probably working the system pretty good- which usually means weekends and holidays. $150k is not. I'm tiring of AT guys not seeing the correlation between pay rate and days off/QOL. If you don't want or need to make much $$- the higher rate means you can work less days. Our efficient schedules will already mean less days for you. I don't understand how that's not common sense obvious to everyone. The reason swa guys get riled is bc we know and experience life here- the schedule, culture, and pay are better- and with 6 airlines notched in my belt- I know. The same relative seniority buys you a better life at swa than it does at AT. It's that simple.

You're going to have to look above this post to figure what I was talking about.

I grossed $165k last year. 7 year FO. I dont work the system. I just fly my line and average 13 days per month working. That doesn't include the 9.3% 401k match for another $15,300 per year and the profit sharing for the year of $8800. So my total compensation for a 7 year FO working no weekends and no holidays and only 13 days a month is $189,000. I don't know what Airtran's rates are but you can use these numbers for a conservative comparison.
