Overheard on our way to MDW. Prayers for the RJ FO who was unconscious. Hope they are alright. From over the radios, the captain did a nice job handling a lot single pilot. If anyone has an update, please keep us up.

A U.S. Air passenger jet leaving Indianapolis turned around and made an emergency landing Monday when a co-pilot lost consciousness.
Flight 3328 to Philadelphia returned to gate B10 at 5:53 p.m., according to an Indianapolis International Airport police report.
First officer Perry Nickleach, 54, of Pennsylvania, lost consciousness sometime after the plane initially left the gate, according to the report.
By the time paramedics met him he was awake and was taken to Methodist Hospital for evaluation.
Police said they did not know when the co-pilot lost consciousness.

Oh man, that sux. I knew a female pilot that passed out on a flight and last I heard she STILL hasn't obtained a medical certificate. She was trying for at least two plus years before she finally resigned from the company. Glad he is alive though.

Yup...his airline career is over, but he's alive. Hope he purchased the Loss Of License Insurance. Enjoy the early retirement.

Not so, We had quite a few that lost their medical that went into the training department at the commuter I previously worked for! Let's see, home every night and make more money!

Either way, Glad he is OK and hope he has a speedy diagnosis and recovery.

Hey Could go into dispatch as well.... pending the medical issue..like many of us, the medical issue is the show stopper.. God speed, it sucks, I know.. age 37 for me..

Thats the same thing they USED to say about heart attacks, high blood pressure, diabetes, vision issues, etc. The feds are opening up to a lot of things that used to be the career ender.

Good point. I just had an RLOFT and was talking with the sim instructor about different positions opening up in the training dept. I asked him if he still enjoys instructing or if he misses flying the line. His response: He said he made 110k last year and is home every night.

The F/O seized twice during the ordeal. Captain was a SIM CKA and quite senior. Nice job!!
