Delta continues to replace the less fuel-efficient 50-seat aircraft with customer-preferred dual-class 70-seat aircraft.

Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines said Tuesday it has concluded negotiations to add 12 70-seat Embraer EMB 170 aircraft to its fleet starting in May through early next year, bringing the carrier’s fleet to 48 aircraft.

“We are committed to working very hard to secure opportunities for growth that will make sense and add value to our network, and we certainly feel that this adds value to Compass Airlines and to Trans States Holdings,” said Rick Leach, president-Trans States Inc, parent of Compass, in a memo to employees. “Growth comes when you have a company with an excellent reputation, and an efficient and high quality product, supported by a positive, motivated and driven group of professionals. And that is Compass Airlines.”

The Compass announcement supports Delta’s 2011 Flight Plan goals to achieve a Delta Connection experience consistent with the mainline operation, including product, boarding and airport operations, and to improve fuel consumption per block hour through ground, flight and aircraft initiatives.

Boy oh boy.... I am sure glad I passed up on the Compass interview offer last July. Thus far in my aviation career I have only make bad decisions. One of these days it might go my way.

Damn whoever went to Compass last year is going to get a quick upgrade.

True, but the real question is, what the heck did you type into google to find your avatar?

I tried: Nasty, Skank, Ho, Badonkadonk, Phat, Fat, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Didn't find it.

Who cares, it's just another RJ operator now that theres no delta flow. More E170s and less Delta jets is all it is.

If the world is going to have RJs, as a commuter I'd rather see them use ERJs over CRJs.

But..

DAL needs to tighten up their scope this round, big time.

ERJ's are too stiff. The ride in a CRJ is far better. If you want to puke take a ride in an ERJ.
