No genius... you were the "guy" who went to the back alley and PAID someone that obviously you wanted and were willing to BUY, just to get them to come hang out with your $ss.

Use all the analogies that you want. I have no problem shoving them right back into that big blowhole of yours.

The SWA Pilots didn't buy ANYTHING. The SWA Pilots aren't doing ANYTHING. This is a management decision. DEAL with it Sparky.

Gearup....

SWA pilots did nothing? We (SWAPA) crafted, fought for, and secured the contract that these 1700 new guys will be enjoying. As long as nothing gets out of hand, each and everyone of them will be welcome.

True, we pilots had nothing to do with the transaction that is to take place in the spring. But, MAKE NO MISTAKE, we had EVERYTHING to do with the creation of the benefits that each and every AAI pilot will soon reap. I am sure the vast majority of them understand that.

Sounds like a HUGE turnout! The silent majority of SWA guys obviously choose to engage instead of chest thumping on FlightInfo.

700 give or take SWA pilots and wives showing up to talk to the Trannies . . . I like it! Let's put all this ******************** behind us and git 'er done.

Ty

I am glad that there was a great turnout. When I got hired at SWA I felt I won the lottery as well. It is a great feeling to drink Wild Turkey at the GO as new employee.

700+ Trannies handful of SWA pilots and wives.

It was nice to listen to a union president that could speak coherently.

It was a good time, I'll admit. Did you see me there? I'm the one that brought Carol from CS for my date . . . I figured a few of these guys could use a laugh . . . .

FOUL!

No one should bring any hate to this thread!

Free beer and good times!

It was great meeting so many of you guys! Class act!

Ty, I'm glad you enjoyed it. That is the tip of the iceberg. Come with a smile and you and your date will be invited to enjoy the weekly Deck Parties at the GO.

Seriously, I hope you went and enjoyed the legendary Southwest (Swapa) Hospitality. You are going to LUV it here.

There were around 500 pilots, give or take, and about 250-300 of their spouses, significant others, or flight attendant girlfriends (no, I'm not kidding). :D

It was a great time, the swag was cool, the food was awesome (lots of different cheeses, hummus and pita bread / chips, a token nod at carrots and celery for something healthy, chicken fingers, beef burgougnoine (sp?), and some really awesome crab cakes with bearnaise sauce, plus the 2 open bars with just about every alcohol imaginable (I had to j/s, so couldn't partake, but many people did).

There was a VERY brief presentation by Kuwitzky and Hilman (plus our comm chair spoke briefly reminding people that we weren't there to discuss the SLI). Kuwitzky made the joke that if anyone wanted to settle the SLI matter right then and there, they brought a Wii and a plasma TV set up by the stairs and would challenge any AAI pilot to golf. I don't know if anyone took them up on it, but a few people did play. ;)

It was downstairs in the open "reception" area as soon as you walk in. It was standing room only which, in that space, for anyone who's been there, is a pretty dang large room. They handed out a booklet that I haven't had a chance to really dive into yet. It was an IROPS day in ATL, several SWAPA volunteers didn't make it in, but there were still about a dozen guys/gals answering questions. I left about 7 trying to j/s home and didn't get out. When I left the airport for the hotel about an hour and a half ago, it was 11 and the party was still going with guys just getting off of trips texting buddies there saying "come on out" and they were heading over.

Thanks to SWAPA for organizing such a great event. Rumor has it there will be similar events soon in MKE and MCO. Definitely feeling the LUV from SWA...

I personally think it was marvelous that my union traveled to Atlanta to give the AAI guys a presentation on the giant gains they'll receive in pay, work rules, QOL, stability, culture, etc. as a result of this acquisition.

So when is ATN/ALPA coming to Dallas to brief me on what I can expect from this deal?
