The dry-up of military Reserve funding may force some folks back to the line who don't really want to come back yet. Any MIL guys wanna speculate?

Sounds like the gravy train has finally arrived at the last stop, after 6 long years!!

Wouldn't the Nov 8th close date on the bid be before most would know what is going to happen with their reserve units. It may effect the next bid, but I just think this one will sneak by.

new $$

Folks,

If you think for a minute that military $$ is drying up just because the end of the fiscal year has happened, you are mistaken. In each and every year of the reserve unit, new money ALWAYS arrived with a new fiscal year. ( 1 Oct 20XX) With continuing resolutions the "new norm", squadrons will be funded, but with short term funds vs. long term budgets.

This should not directly affect MIL leaves.

Only those currently on extended MIL leave know when they are returning.

Of the 12 additional recalls, I would be suprised if as many as four were filled by returning MIL. Maybe two or three. Time will tell.

A source told me the long term orders were drying up, and all that would be left is cut-to-fit orders for the 10 or 12 day trips! I don't see many airline guys standing in line for cut-to-fit for 10 days at a whack!

If they can't get money thru the end of this quarter, what's the point? I would speculate that all those guys doing 90 day orders would jump off that sinking ship (like rats) and swim for the harbor!

We'll see!!

Did I miss something? I thought the company wasn't allowed to "flex up" with pilots on furlough.

(2) Any month in which pilots are on furlough may not be
designated by the Company as a flex up month unless
it is to facilitate the training of pilots returning from

furlough.

...There's always a way around things...
