Anyone have any idea on how long before they publish the bid? I don't recall reading anything about how long it would take and I figured it would be out by now. Kinda curious to see what it's gonna look like.

Was told it would be a few days and when it goes live it may not come out til the 20th each month at the latest. It wouldn't be as soon as it is now.

Straight from the MEC PBS update e-mail:

1st mock bid awards will be out on the 19th.

2nd mock bid opens 8/20, closes 8/23, and awards 8/27

3rd mock bid opens 8/28, closes 8/31, and awards 9/4

Do you guys realize they are mocking you......
PBR

Yet another part that's worse than what we're currently using. If I'd had the chance to see this program before voting on it it would have been an HEELLL NO, rather than just No

Having sat down with a Skywest pilot and demonstrated the software, the preview features, being able to see how many pairings match a preference, the advanced editing features, and all the sort functions available, it has way more features, some even that big D does not offer in its software.

Aside from that, would you rather go back to eBid? Seriously? It's all about the work rules that are involved, and knowing how to speak the same lingo as the software program is speaking. If you can't do that, I'm sure you can pay your first officer to bid for you.

Let me know if anyone is interested in paying ;) I'll gladly build a comprehensive default bid for a fee. Then they can just import it every month and change it the few months they need something different.

You must of known that because our "keep ya in the dark" union sent out an email right??? Wait no I didn't get one either

How many people actually believed there would be enough participation in the first bid.. Especially when you consider that everyone had to learn the new software and do the the serious bidding for next month, all at the same time.

The next move will be a shuffle of the SEPT Flica line bid awards, because some stupid idiot didn't know he had to file a line bid. He or she will say they thought the PREFBID Practice bid was for real. They'll file a grievance and bam!!!!

Just turn the crap on. One month of dorked up schedules and everyone will get real smart real quick.

I know several stupid idiots who did not participate.

Maybe they should've made it so you couldn't submit your Flica line bid until you at least had a PBS default bid submitted?

I bet the practice bid participation rate matched the COBRA assessment vote. Now let the whining begin!!! Same stupid idiots who made Pelosi two bullets shy of being Commander In Chief!!

You had multiple chances to see the program before voting.

Correct but seeing and using are two very different things. Kinda like that hot girl you were so sure was gonna rock in the sack then after it was over you were like, nope she's not that hot.....

Honestly, it's more like "after it was over, she had a penis"

Here's an idea, sit down with a PBS trainer that YOUR UNION DUES ARE PAYING FOR, and actually learn the proper way to use the system. It only takes about an hour to get an in depth understanding. They are available from 8am-10pm EVERY DAY of the week.

Or you can be one of the whiners and complainers, think you have the system all figured out on your own, submit a messed up bid, then complain you got "screwed" when actually the system gave you exactly what you bid for.

Your choice.....

I've been told all this is mostly the result of Flightline not having the software in compliance with the LOA.

There is no way pilots are gonna dik with this thing enough to become competent and confident with such a far off turn on date. Money spent on trainers over the next four months is money wasted, unless it's the company's money, in which case I am cool with it.

But of course now we have to read/listen to four more months of people whining about how much PBS sucks, even though they have no idea what they are talking about. I'm not saying it doesn't suck, because I don't know what I'm talking about either.

I just want to turn the darn thing on and get those first two months of vertical learning curve out of the way and move the fak on.

Well said!

ASA Pilot: No

No, you are not paying for it, the company is.

No, you are not paying for it, the company is.

Well in that case, train-away I say!!!

Train train train train train!!!

XJET guys better pay attention:

This system gives far too much control to the company. We are just trying to sugar-coat things to make it look like our agreement doesn't suck so much.

"software problems" my ass! This system sorts trips real pretty, but it still gives the company WAAAAYYY to much license to break one off in some uncomfortable place.

-This agreement needs serious fixes. You can't blame me for getting this crap shoved up our collective pooper-I voted "NO!"

You are paying for it as well in the form of 100 hr months, re-routes, and extensions. If these people are in the crew lounge everyday they are not covering trips... You are!

Training classes? Who has the time?

By the way..
Do you shod that horse in your avatar?
Kidding, of course.
