We (JB) do too...but you can't do it all the time or for too long. Schedule integrity will take a dump and you risk having the "held" flight producing late connectors on the next flight for that ship/crew down line.

Actually legacies do hold flights every single day. Usually its for groups of people. Do the hold it for one person probably not, but they do it all time. I've never complained about holding a flight nor have I seen anyone else do so?????

SWA is by far one of the best run airlines, or companies for that matter, out there. This will pass. Literally SWA controls the southwest portion of the US in terms of domestic air travel.

Everytime I js on SWA they treat me great - and since I live in the southwest I use them almost exclusively. I've js'ed on DAL, UAL, CAL, NWA (when it was NWA), Airtran, and US Air. SWA and Airtran are great...US Air - worst experience ever.

Turns out that SWA wasn't talking about mechanical problems with aircraft - they meant problems out of their control at airports such as power outages, or intrument landing systems go down when needed, or all the de-icing equipment breaks down, etc.

Keep up with the times brick, the fuel hedges are costing SWA money now. Not sure what the barrel price SWA is hedged at, but it is more than the current cost per barrel.
