this morning out of GSO our erj 145 crew flying us en route to O Hare took a takeoff clearance on runway 23. took it on the roll and lined up, applied full power. within seconds the flight spoilers deployed. at the exit, i noticed along with another pax, and a another major airline pilot, that #1 was spooling up. we all heard it. we confronted the crew at the gate. they missed it and they confessed. I called the feds. the insanity stops. this is unfathomable..

the tower said they didn't mention it...go figure...but one thing is clear ..they took the runway, lined up, applied full power to two, and then aborted, the spoilers deployed...

this story may break in the next few days... #1 was not running......

I have contacted a major newspaper reporter who covered the colgan crash....this is for the families of the victims of colgan 3407 and comair out of Lex...people don't need to die on order for change to occur. we fix this now. a few bad apples will ruin the bushel

You contacted the Feds, what an ahole you are.

The crew learned from this. They are better for it. Not the ideal way to learn.

You have NO idea the crap treatment, the crap schedules the regional guys go through. Not an excuse, but contributing factor.

Go screw yourself

You'd make a good Fed. By which I mean you're a self-righteous ******************************. Karma is a b**tch. They were unsafe but not so unsafe that you turned down the free ride to O'Hare, huh?

Stool pigeon, rat, snitch A$$hole..........

Up to 48 other folks weren't on a free ride and had the reasonable expectation that the crew knew both engines were required to take off. If this story is true, then the crew in question earned their trip through the spanking machine.

Id like to hear a legitimate source verify this. Until then, I'm giving the original poster absolutely no credibility, just for the fact of being a complete POS rat dbag!!

Here's how I know you're a bad person:

1) You go to the feds after this? Are you insane?

2) You post this to FI looking for support from fellow pilots...about ratting other pilots out on a mistake.

3) Your avatar....it has NO ass at all...dem pancakes.

4) You went to the media? Boy...be glad I'm cycling off my sterons and in a good mood!

5) You've GOT to be trollin'

You gleefully squealed it to the feds and, worst of all, the press instead of to the airline. How long were you able to resist the urge to go rub one out while replaying the events of the morning in your defective little brain? They F'd up. They need to answer to the disciplinary and safety process at the airline they work for. Not to TMZ, you jacka$$.

You suck.

I must disagree with you.

The originator of this thread is clearly a troll and posted this as flame bait.

The events he described match almost perfectly the Trans States management pilot E145 aborted takeoff, where it turns out they only had one engine running. It is the incident that TSA is trying to sweep under the carpet but the FAA is investigating.

The only thing "different" was that he called the FAA.

Please do not respond any more to this thread - it is only giving yourself a heart attack for someone's perverse pleasure.

What a pri*k this dou*he is.

Really? Didn't they actually say that after Lex, and Colgan? I thought we were going to get a change to flight time and duty regs? No later than January they said! Well, that has been conveniently slipped under the dirty little rug. Regional pay and work schedules were being addressed. What happened there? Back in the closet. Nothing will ever change in this puke industry

Someone should get a lawyer on your sorry butt.... This goes beyond flamebait. Making this sort of stuff up for "fun" is not cute, it is just sad

I'd like to think so, but unfortunately it doesn't look like a troll to me.

And the flight details he provided actually match a specific Expressjet flight not TSA.

You truly disgust me. The Feds and the newspapers? You think productivity will come out this? GFY.

the insanity stops. this is unfathomable..
Exactly what insanity? That a massive percentage of legacy airline pilots once flew for regionals? That most of the current regional CAs have thousands upon thousands of hours of turbine PIC? That this could have happened at a legacy, lcc, cargo, etc just as easily? What exactly are you trying to say?
Unfortunately, he won't be slithering back any time soon.
