Trans States Buys Compass??

sounds like they bought the certificate, the planes are still Delta's. The HQ must be up in MSP though, so it's definitely not going to be integrated into Trans States or GoJet? Would it be Minneapolis based GoCompass?
 
Reading through our emails this morning it looks as though the flow will remain in place for a 60 day period until the parties can meet to discuss future plans. :-( Not sure how I feel about that.
 
It sounds like the flow will terminate at some point in the future, whether it be shortly or after the current pilots on the lost flow. It will be determined but my guess is that ALPA will state that the flow is contractual and has successorship language so flow away. Company may not want that and we will see what they will pay to end it.
 
Wow... In the same press release about the sale, I read this:

"Trans States Holdings Inc. is the parent company of regional airlines Trans States Airlines and GoJet Airlines. It operates as United Express and US Airways Express.

On Wednesday, the Federal Aviation Administration said it wants to fine Trans States and GoJet for violating maintenance procedures and operating nine jets on 320 flights when the planes were not in compliance with safety regulations.

Trans States and GoJet have 30 days to respond. The carriers said in statements they are confident they will be able to show the FAA's allegations are incorrect."

Who got the worse end of this deal: Mesaba or Compass pilots? I'd say we all just got tea-bagged.
 
I personally want to see the flows end. I do feel that anyone hired at Compass with the expectation of flowing should have that honored. If Compass wants to tell the pilots it is interviewing that they will not flow before the pilot takes the job, I'm fine with that. I have no problem ending the Mesaba flow ASAP.
 
Why shouldn't they be able to flow? If it was agreed upon by contract, why should it not continue? Why should a legal contact be broken? How will you feel when whatever contract you are on is raped? I don't work for Compass or Eagle, but I have a big problem when contacts are not followed. If with new ownership the contract for flow is terminated by language already there, than I'm OK with it, but it still sucks for those who thought they had the golden (maybe copper) ticket to the next level. Even if the flow stays, I don't see happy days for the employees at Compass. Hulas is total scum and he does bad things to his employees on a regular basis. Good luck!

Simply, what Hockey states is the sentiment of many DAL pilots. Not saying it is right or wrong, but they have a say. DAL does not like not having total control over their pilot selection as well.

It does give many parties leverage though.
 
I think that may be the best result for everyone. The pilots currently on the list will be allowed to flow. That way no harm is done to anyone.

What about a guy that was just hired, but hasn't started training yet? I was hired on the 24th, but I am assuming my official hire date will be the day I show up for orientation, which will be in Aug.

I dont want to be affiliated with TSH. Ive been furloughed from that place for over a year now and I thought I was finally about to move on. Now Hulas owns the company I was just hired to fly for. Great way to start my day.....

That was some funny stuff.

But not for JoeM! Never worked there but I have never, ever heard anything good from or about TSA. Sad day for the Compass folks. Just when it looks like you've landed somewhere nice theres always some dude to pull the rug out from under ya. Sums up the Regional Industry!
 
Wow. Hulas has a history of running separate certificates so it may not be all that bad for Compass. Maybe MSP is far enough. I wouldn't count out the flow though though, since it keeps pilot costs down, and that's how it works with Huals. It's too early to say who gets the short end of the stick here.

Looks like Delta found a way out of the flow. There will be a few classes of flow-ups at DAL, and its all but over.
 
I would say Compass AND Mesaba's worked. Only flow ups, no flow downs. Just didn't last real long.

Unless there are flow up guys with a Delta ID hanging around their neck I would not be too sure it worked even for a short time. I bet someone is hard at work trying to find a way out of letting any flow through guys on property. Sadly that is how things work in the regional industry.

Does that mean that all Mesaba's 900+ pilots can flow too? I tend to think the flow for both XJ and Compass will end after about 2 months worth.

There are Mesaba pilots that flowed to NWA last time around.
 
My only comment on this sale is a few questions; Just how loud was the combined sounds of all those Compass pilot's bungholes slamming shut?

Did the shock wave carry all the way up to Lake Michigan? Has a tsunami warning been issued for the Canadian side?

Talk about a kick in the gooch????

Congratulations on becoming part of one of the world's worst airlines!!! That place stinks !!

Maybe their training department will take over and your checkrides will become popularity contests.

Nothing but feeling lucky on my part. Perhaps when Skywest spins ASA off we will be get a better deal, like maybe get bought by Mesa!!!

The Delta pilots MEC can share the responsibiltiy for giving Compass the middle finger as well, you had the opurtunity to fight for these airframes and pilots and bring them onto the property now thats slipped away.
After all the bitchging and moaning about scope and RJ's you had a golden oppurtunity to push the nag back in the barn but fail to even show interest.
I dont get it?

It appears Delta wants to concentrate on running Delta, and not regionals. And, I wonder if this will allow more whipsaw between Regionals? That's not good. I still think the current Compass guys and maybe some Mesaba guys should get the opportunty to flow up, as long as there is still an opportunity to flow down too.

Just so we have the facts straight here, for the Compass side of things. Letters were sent out to the top 70 pilots but they only said to reply if you weren't interested in flowing. No actual slots have passed by or anything, and in fact as per those letters the 45 day "RSVP" period is still going on right now.

Yamaguchi lived and worked in Nagasaki, but in the summer of 1945 he went to Hiroshima for a three month business trip.[1] On 6 August he was preparing to leave the city with two colleagues, Akira Iwanaga and Kuniyoshi Sato, and was on his way to the station when he realised he had forgotton his hanko, and returned to his workplace to get it.[2][3] At 8:15 he was walking back towards the docks when the American bomber Enola Gay dropped the Little Boy atomic bomb near the centre of the city, only 3 km away.[1][4] Yamaguchi recalls seeing the bomber and two small parachutes, before there was "a great flash in the sky, and I was blown over"[3] The explosion ruptured his eardrums, blinded him temporarily, and left him with serious burns over the left side of the top half of his body. At 11 am on August 9, Yamaguchi was describing the blast in Hiroshima to his supervisor, when the American bomber Bocks Car dropped the Fat Man atomic bomb onto Nagasaki. His workplace again put him 3 km from ground zero, but this time he was unhurt by the explosion.[4] However, he was unable to seek treatment for his now ruined bandages, and suffered from a high fever for over a week.[1]
