The natives are restless. We should not have gone back to work until we saw highlights of this TA. The MEC says we met all of our goals, PARITY? I hope that is the case, but if not we will vote it down. I am getting frustrated that 3 days have passed and we have no info from the MEC on this TA or info as to when they will give us info. If the rumors are true of only 18% pay raise for FO's then that's not new pay parity! Thats less than even Allegiant! If the rumors are true that we lost option 3 on the bidding, there will be a No vote as well. If the rumors are true that we lost any overtime, ie. 150%, no vote again. If the rumors are true that signing bonus is only $7k with no retro, another NO vote! I have watched multiple airlines go through both strikes as well as getting to strike deadline and I have never seen the TA take so long to show your constituents. We followed you faithfully, we were told we may shut the airline down and were ready to close the doors for good if we could not get pay parity, well I pray we have achieved that, otherwise NO vote! I appreciate the hard work of the MEC and thank them for negotiating the best deal they could get, but now is not time to withhold information. I am tired of hearing about "what we retained" what did we gain? There should be no give backs in any section, as the MEC stated we have been operating under a concessionary contract for way too long, we had the bastards by the balls, why such a hurry to go back to work?

...why such a hurry to go back to work?
Fat raises for the CA's and senior F/O's on the MEC...or maybe it is cushy new management jobs just like John Ferg...speak now SPA MEC or forever be remembered as the Frank Lorenzo MEC.

Just curious if you call your reps are they answering your calls and fielding questions? Or are you just getting the run around?

So the Spirit MEC has decided to go back to work based on a TA, yet the company is completely screwing over the Flight Attendants in regards to their contractual protections with furlough recall criteria.

While ALPA should not be interfering with the Flight Attendant side of the house, it seems patently obvious Spirit management has not changed their ways whatsoever with respect to and about honoring it's contractual commitments to their employees.

I personally believe it was a foolish decision to take the lines down until a TA was ratified with the membership. The purpose of a strike it to get a ratified contract, not an agreement for a TA.

I agree. Don't fumble the ball before you cross the goal line.

The FA's , on their own accord, should have negaotiated/required a pay raise just to return to work, short of the contractual 2+ week requirement. I don't understand why they have not done this. Never let an opprotunity go to waste when your dealing with a SCUM BAG management.

road shows may end up being a lynch mob..........It hope its better than what we are hearing......I will pass judgement then instead of now...lets use our heads to vote on this thing, not our emotions. If you don't believe in your heart its a good deal then vote no. Lets wait thou until we see it

Spirit Air Management = ******************************bags.

When they signed the TA with the dispatchers, when the rough draft was being finalized, management changed whole sections to get what they wanted without negotiations.

I wouldnt trust NK management as far as I can hock one up....

This has happened before and the Spirit MEC didn't insist on a final, complete and ratified agreement? Appalling.

I am smelling one of two things here. Another ALPA sellout/Capitulation or gross incompetence to learn from history. Either way the continued silence does not bode well and the longer it goes on I have to wonder about dissension within the Sprit MEC itself.

Heard from a friend that Colombia was going to pull route authority or something. That...if true...may have had an influence on mgmt to say "hey, we'll dance now" with a new deal prematurely so they wouldn't lose out on those routes.

Anyone else hear something like that?

The fact that details still haven't been distributed is worrisome - it could mean one thing: time needed to prepare for SPIN.

There should be clear objectives and then an immediate assessment on whether those clear objectives had been met or not. Why is that soooooooo difficult?????

Prepare to lynch/fire your MEC if this process has been fumbled...

Each Spirit pilot needs to make an informed decision when they cast their vote. READ it before deciding your vote. There seems to be a lot of guys ready to vote it down sight unseen, and that's just ridiculous.

Expect to receive the TA in the coming week

Can the MEC ratify without a vote from the pilots?

Not only NO but H%$L NO.

First, nice work Spirit Pilots.

Second, the ALPA C&B's do in fact allow MEC ratification of CBA's under ARTICLE XVIII, Section 2.

Has the Spirit MEC established that the membership must ratify? That would be unusual considering the fact that most MEC's like to keep the MEC ratification option in their back pocket as a negotiating tool. It provides some leverage in very unique circumstances.

With that being said, I highly doubt that an MEC would ratify a CBA after self help.

Regardless, you should be proud of your unity and resolve. I sincerely hope that the TA is everything that you deserve.

Most MEC's can only ratify in case of urgent need and then it has to be re-ratified by the pilot group within a certain period of time, usually 30-90 days. Each individual CBA addresses this issue. The ALPA bylaws do not trump the CBA if the CBA requires member ratification.

Spirit pilots and their MEC did a wonderful job of getting a TA. Now getting the pilots to approve it is the next step. I think they have a leading TA and why after reading the whole TA they don't accept it would amaze me. They did it right and I hope other carriers will learn from it. Unity is a must if you go into a strike.

Nobody's going to believe you until we see the numbers. I'm just sayin'...
