Oh boy get people excited then take it all away! SH@#!
The real question is why the 30 additional slots in IAD? There was only 1 vacancy, and it seemed like they were staffed pretty well. (15 reserves for 45 lines). That just seems like a lot considering it is almost doubling the staffing.
Did this really require a new thread? There are currently 8 threads on the first page discussing the same topic. The moderation on this forum is terrible. You would think with all the ads, the owner could afford to pay a moderator to hold down the fort.

Let's not complain about that part. They didn't staff that place nearly enough.
tons of flying being done by ATL based pilots in the UA system next month. Look at the lines, and you'll see how many of the pairings do 1 or 2 days out of 4 flying for UA. The increase in IAD must be to cover this flying.
How long ago was the last displacement bid to qualify for super seniority? It had to be close to six months.

Does everyone understand that the 25% reserve staffing is another back door attack on our contract. The more on reserve the more people they can do what ever they want too them. More ready reserve staff, easier to extend(you have to call to get released), move days off, make 5-6 day trips. This is another hole that has to be plugged. What is the amount of open time they are holding back? More than the contract allows I'll bet, but where is our union on this? They will keep pulling the wool over our eyes a little at a time so we only bitch a little bit and pretty soon it will be 40-50% on reserve. That was to allow for bidding back and forth. There really weren't any slots. That simply allowed for someone to go to IAD without having to do a swap.
I can't even remember the last time the Union did something in favor of the pilots.Guarantee it is the last option! I can't even imagine that they check, ask or demand to know! My faith in this Union MEC and officers, especially the scheduling and hotel committee's is non-existent!

We got some free burgers not too long ago
Trust me. They weren't free.
Any of you bothered to volunteer for union work? Remember, most of us do this on our off time.
