tons of flying being done by ATL based pilots in the UA system next month. Look at the lines, and you'll see how many of the pairings do 1 or 2 days out of 4 flying for UA. The increase in IAD must be to cover this flying.

BTW. For this month, IAD is staffed the same as the 200 and 700 in ATL. There were 15 reserves for 45 lines. That is 25% on reserve. Now, if they are needing more lines that is a different story.

Also, there were 12 bid-backs to ATL, and 26 new awards. So, a net of 14 extra.

And visa versa. We even have DCI flying out DTW with 73xx flight numbers along with ATL and MEM flying.

That was to allow for bidding back and forth. There really weren't any slots. That simply allowed for someone to go to IAD without having to do a swap.

Does everyone understand that the 25% reserve staffing is another back door attack on our contract. The more on reserve the more people they can do what ever they want too them. More ready reserve staff, easier to extend(you have to call to get released), move days off, make 5-6 day trips. This is another hole that has to be plugged. What is the amount of open time they are holding back? More than the contract allows I'll bet, but where is our union on this? They will keep pulling the wool over our eyes a little at a time so we only bitch a little bit and pretty soon it will be 40-50% on reserve.

I did. Multiple times. And each time, I never even received a phone call from anyone in the MEC to discuss. Once I was told they already had enough people in the committee. I have numerous times volunteered for the hotel committee, and at other times the ACC and the scheduling committee.

So, my tries to help be part of the solution and help work for my fellow pilots was met with rude silence.

I answered "I'd be happy to! what can I do to help?"

I was told THEN AND THERE "Well, we don't have any available spots on that committee"
