Now ASA has postponed vacations for July!!!!

There are going to be some seriously P!SSED off folks, now!

Way to run your airline, management!

Right now it is voluntary.

If they don't get enough volunteers, it will become mandatory. I hope they don't pull the trigger on that. It would be a huge mistake.

No F'ing way. I am touch dropping 2 4 days and taking 16 days off in a row. I've been working my arse off for 5 straight months doing nothing but 4 on 3 off looking forward to this vacation.

take your "vacation" anyway...fvck em.

They made the bed...

sigh...I see nothing has changed since I left in 07...brief honeymoon after the new contract...but back to the same ole $hit.

F'em...

We can do it one of two ways......
1. We can do it the way we agreed upon last year, I bid for a vacation week, and then I take it.
2. I can call in sick 2hrs prior to my go time and get the vacation you promised in example 1 in a later time.
I prefer example 1, it's easier on everyone. The result is the same in the end.

I'm changing my recall status to 'bypass'...this looks like a nightmare scenario to be recalled into.

Here's my reply to Scotty's email:

'You already took 4 days off a month from me with these 4 day trips when I've been flying quality 3 days trips for the past 8-9 years"!

Hoser
ROLL TIDE!!!

Rising panic in the management ranks. The voices of reason pointing out for months that we're understaffed and they needed to do something about it, were scoffed at and dismissed. It's been said for months that there was no way we'd be doing any less flying than last summer and we have substantially less pilots. Simple 3rd grade logic would have pointed to recalls and upgrades. Hall and Tutt need to be fired over this. The world will be a happier place

I haven't seen anything stating they are outright cancelling vacations yet. I would suspect the next step would be offering to pay some type of premium to buy people out.

-If they cancel people's R&R time, there will be outright war! I really think Brad is smarter than that, (as for some of the others-who knows?)

-Maybe we should not have committed to "opportunistic" flying we have no chance of being able to cover.

A friend was JR manned a 2 day tomorrow. They assigned him a 2 day on a 5 day off run. He was notified via ACARS. Way to ruin a good morale.

The only way I might be okay with losing a vacation week is if I was still paid for it, maybe add time-n-half too. Double dipping. I'm NOT saying it'd be all good.

Just say'n I MIGHT be okay...

That doesn't help anyone who actually made plans...school is out, spouses time off to match yours...ect. Totally inconsiderate and poor planning. Their lack of planning shouldn't be YOUR emergency.

I wouldn't miss my R&R for triple time!
