Well, then I will assume huncowboy your question was directed to me. I also assume that you're part of our current union leadership, so my hope is that YOU can directly make a positive impact and improve communication with the group.

To answer your question, I have volunteered to help the union on a particular committee. I haven't heard one way or another whether you want my help. I'm assuming the union doesn't want my help, otherwise they would have jumped at the offer.

My feeling is someone put Hopkins up to responding in that way to that "vigilante board." :/ The tone is not like him...it's out of character. Now that I've cooled off a bit, I will give him the benefit of the doubt that someone enticed him to write those divisive comments.

The bigger point is that communication must improve. No more secrets...that's all we ask.

WOW, they were kicking off MEC.?Im confused because ALPA national teaches not to post on boards only official methods. So how could you get kicked off if you werent there in the first place? But, please tell me a name of one person that was kicked off. I want exploit this when I get the facts.

being furloughed from united , i understand your yearning for information- however being involved at TSA ALPA- sometimes even i was left out of the loop- and there is a reason for this too- soemtimes they cant let certain things out-- sometimes they are giving the company a little more time- sometimes their move has to be dependent on what the mediator does--- etc--- Other times they dont want to get a feel of the pilot sentiment by sending something out--- it's better to wait , have all the chips lie in place and have a once and for all update when it means something and then have a plan to respond to it.

All I can really say is get involved and stay informed-- some of our volunteers volunteered strictly to be more in the loop and act as a phone tree to others --

trust me after what paul has demonstrated he would do and the lengths he would go for a pilot group--- you are in good hands--- do believe what you read/hear unless it come from a certain few key people from the union

Yes, Several times. It is likely that we will start our 30 day cooling this week but no promises. People here are so angry that they want to shut it down and see blood shed.

Remember that the NMB has to put together a contract and offer it to both sides...a proffer of arbitration, if either side rejects the proffer the NMB will release both sides into the 30 day cooling off period. But keep in mind that the President or even congress can still intervene.

You'll never see a PEB intervention in this fight, but Mike is correct, that is the process.

If the unions did anything good, they would lobby and support legislation that modified the RLA, as this process is just so one sided against the union.

I'm not sure I mentioned that anyone was worried about a PEB, I was simply stating a fact. I'm not sure how you inferred that from my factual statement, but thanks for supporting your fellow pilots.

The worst part of this, is you can see the division in this group. It manifests itself on this and the spirtpilots board. I truly hope we can put aside our political(ALPA) differences and Focus on the company, our true enemy at this time.

Rumor has it that the NMB asked the MEC to hold their tongues while they throw management 1 "last and final" chance to bargain in good faith. Supposedly management did not truly believe that we would really want to be released and strike. This was a major misstep on the part of the crack BBB super airline management team. Also they know the union will get very vocal with the media as soon as the 30 days starts, with the whole "pay to bring a carry on" issue it got some much higher up people involved to get BBB to stop his idiotic behavior on national news outlets. The word is that the hedge funders are pissed at BBB and told him to get off the tv and finish this negotiation before it blows up in his face further. Apparently some investors do not agree that all publicity is good publicity like Ben B does.

I agree boomlrd, I dont care if you are republican or democrat or anything else; our crack management has drawn the ire of the government. This only helps our cause from here on out. I hope Mr LaHood and Schumer continue to turn up the heat on those jerks. Mike I think what you said is partially true. On the spiritpilots board there are some people who were once involved with ALPA that were shown the door, they are not happy about it. Some hijack threads and just bash our current group also they spread alot of rumors they spin as facts on the line. I call my reps or Hopkins every 2 weeks so I get the facts. They say what they can and I get more info than from this type enviornment. Were so close even if you dont like/trust our current MEC I urge every spirit pilot to support them. For a little longer till strke/TA or whatever takes place once this is over, god willing soon. Recall them if you want or whatever. We just need to give BBB and franke the apperace of a strong unified group. I know we are but if you are on spiritpilots board its not so clear.

Stop trying to direct people to that other board and think before you jump in and agree with a bad rumor. If the NMB gave the union an answer the union would told the group.

I saw SC in FLL the other day he said...they are hoping for a release early next week (4/19 or 20)...other than that he didn't know anything else.

What I failed to mention in my other post was I heard something close to what bloomlrd posted. That came directly from someone in Washington DC for the last round of negotiations.
