Lt Gen Gould is the Superintendent of the Air Force Academy. His view on this: http://www.gazette.com/opinion/mutual-93684-gen-academy.html

Jeeesh.

The Supe ought to be spending his time trying to develop a football program that has some remote chance of one day being competitive against Navy, and turning out leaders and war fighters (not REMF bureaucrats) who are focused on doing their part to provide outstanding support for the dudes on the ground.

As a matter of fact, last night my wife and I were going out to eat. Right before we left I saw the saw the old Pascal's wager post. I told my 15 year old somebody was using that argument. He rolled his eyes. I asked him to handle it while we went to dinner. So my last post was from a teenager. He did pretty good I think. Amazing what free thought will do to the mind.

Good to know what you are teaching your kids...

HAHAHA yeah because a 15 year old is so worldly, educated, and experienced. He knows what you, his friends, and MTV has taught him.

He's read most of the bible as well as the Koran. I doubt you have read much of the bible or even held a Koran. It's funny, I encourage him to not listen to me and do his own research and form his own opinions. I'm sure that's exactly what you do in sunday school too...

I'm out, this has been fun. You sheep take care.

Try learning how to spell Qur'an, never mind that a non-believer is never allowed to touch one, and an English reprint hardly qualifies. You ever seen the one on display in the Jumeriah Mosque? Didn't think so. Lets see, in the last 9 months I've been to Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In the last three years you can add Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and several other predominately Islamic Indonesian countries.

Baaaaah....

You are correct. How dare he teach his kids to read different view points and to seek out as much knowledge on a subject before they take a position on it.

Actually Koran is an acceptable transliterated version of Qur'an.

What makes you such an expert as to whether or not a translated copy is as good as the real thing. Would you say the same thing about the bible? I mean I'm pretty sure the first versions of it were not printed in English. Oh wait maybe they were seeing as Jesus is the only person I've ever met from the middle east who had blue eyes, fair skin, and almost blondish hair.

So you've been to those countries big deal. So have I. Let me ask you this. Have you read the Koran? I believe he said his son wasn't an expert on these countries. He was merely stating that his son has been researching the topic by reading up on the Koran and other events.

I am sure that was how it went down...riiiighhht.

Great..someone using wiki.....wonderful source.

Actually..in reference to the Qur'an, while the Koran is acceptable by those who cannot read Arabic, it is NOT considered an acceptable translation of the Qur'an..written in Arabic. If you translate, you lose some of the meaning...the words that were passed down from Gabriel to Muhammed (he was illiterate) and were told "verbatim" to those who simply recorded what Muhammed said...only in Arabic.

So it is NOT as good as the Qur'an...not even close to true Muslims.

Do some research....
