I didn't say I was respectful on here. Not trying to have it work for me. Trying to introduce a little levity. Never mind, I like being an a$$ better anyway.

Why don't you go murmur to yourself a little while and tell me what insight the big kahuna gives you.

Oww. That hurts. So close to home. I may have to go grab a 12 pack and drink myself to sleep tonight. Or maybe I'll just pray about it. Surely if I take up the lord more people will like me.:uzi:

Herkdrv, I couldn't agree more. My kids and I saw it in the theaters on opening night and own the DVD.

I'm the one that's going to burn for eternity. ;)

Would you rather be the person that doesn't believe in God and spends eternity in Hell, or one of the religious and faithful that are proven wrong by having absolutely nothing happen when they die?

Ahhhh, classic Pascal's wager. First of all, believing out of fear that something bad may happen to you after your death is a terrible reason to believe. Second, I would rather try to seek the truth than accepting something as truth first-hand and not having any intellectual curiosity about the workings of the universe. And third, that argument applies to every single other religion with a punishment/reward system as well. I doubt that you lose sleep fearing you may burn in the Islamic hell, or the Jewish hell, or being sent to hell by not dying in battle (Viking belief), etc. etc. It's a terrible argument because the odds are not 50/50 of going to hell or going to heaven (there are many other religions in the world that would increase those odds vastly).

As a matter of fact, last night my wife and I were going out to eat. Right before we left I saw the saw the old Pascal's wager post. I told my 15 year old somebody was using that argument. He rolled his eyes. I asked him to handle it while we went to dinner. So my last post was from a teenager. He did pretty good I think. Amazing what free thought will do to the mind.
