How do you think a sli should look at RAH?
I think it should look something like this. For midwest, a snapshot at time RAH financing. With furloughs mixed in depending on which pilot group they came from. fences for five years.

midwest captain
F9 fo
midwest fo
RAH captain
Links captain
Rah fo
Links fo
 
There are Links captains that have been there three years. Rah most junior capain has a DOH in 2007. Besides that the links captain will not be lose his seat for a while due to training cost.
 
Straight DOH. Both active list and furlough list.

Never happen, even though it should.

3. Republic first officers with Lynx pilots via DOH

It will never happen, but it should.

Here is what will probably happen:

1. Frontier captains with a few Republic captains via DOH
2. Republic captains, Frontier first officers, 60 Midwest pilots via ratio
3. Lynx captains, active Republic first officers, the rest of the Midwest pilots via ratio
4. Lynx first officers
5. furloughed Republic first officers

This way is by no means fair, but it is what I think will happen. This will put all but 60 Midwest pilots at $37/hour.
 
Seems straight DOH is a little harsh when one airline is a startup. By default the most senior Lynx captain is a 2/07 DOH even though they average 8-10 years 121 experience.

Using that logic, then Frontier and Midwest crews could use their prior 121 experience as well.

A straight DoH with fences for Midwest and Frontier (does that also include Lynx?) colors flying would be acceptable to most Midwest/Frontier folks. It seems Republic wants some sort of willy nilly formulaic approach. It only matters what an arbitrator thinks.
 
I do think that logic should apply to Midwest and Frontier as well. I don't think straight DOH is good for anyone.. Frontier was hiring as recently as 08.. that puts some F9 FO's below RAH FO's. With strong enough fences that could work, but is dicey.

However it only matters what an arbitrator thinks is by far the truest statement out there.

When did each airline start flying? Using that date, take all people with a DoH prior to that and ratio them together. Then when the next airline started flying, ratio all those together and so on.
 
The arbitrators will take a look at what each airline has to offer, and what the career expectations are for each pilot. The Midwest guys don't have a lot to offer unfortunately (their planes are all gone), and their expectations are gone. I would think the F9 guys would be near the top, then some RAH pilots mixed in with a few Midwest guys, then the Lynx pilots, mixed in with some more Midwest guys. The arbitrators will hear from all sides, look at any agreements made with mangement, and give a ruling. Furloughed pilots are generally at the bottom of the list.

Probably impossible but all parties should try to avoid an arbitrator at all cost.
Especially a certain older gentleman who has been doing a great job of pi$$ing in a couple of different pilot groups Wheaties. I'm just sayin.
 
LaGarbage makes a good point. Take the F9-RAH integration. You can integrate them, but as Nic/AWA/USAir has shown, you can't force the two groups (3 if you count MidEx) to enter into negotiations.

Republic's (chq) was 1973, F9 was 1994, Midwest 1984

but like i said before, the sli will be decided in arbitration. debating how it "should" go and what some people think is fair is pointless.

Technically "Midwest" was flying as the Kimberly Clark Corporate flying department a lot earlier than 1984.
 
Right, but that was a corporate flight department, running some shuttles.

doing it since 1948. those "shuttles" went out to Washington from Cheeseland. far more distance than Republic did in its Beech 99's.
 
So the new argument is who has flown the longest?

I don't this is going to win any battles.

Straight percentage of current seniority list into one new master list. Everyone keeps current seat (or at least current pay). Put a 2 year fence around all aircraft and make it a one for one swap from EMB-BUS or vice versa for 3 years after that.

Everyone gets to keep around there same seniority, and this allows for Bus drivers to go to the 170-190 and get a better QOL if they choose to eventually.
 
No offense, but there is no better QOL on the 170/190 for anyone at Frontier. Our work rules and pay trump any benefits of a shorter commute.

Really...until they moved the west coast flying to you guys, we were between 16-18 days off with commutable lines on the 190, what are you getting on the Bus?

I will take some of your pay and work rules though.
 
It will all be ok when the teamsters obtain:

- Industry standard or better pay rates for all aircraft on property
- Major airline work rules
- One seniority list doing all the flying, from Q400 to A320. We'll be the first to "take it back" and be done with the outscourcing of small lift providers.
- Fair and equitable integration (read, shared pain)
- Recall of all the YX guys, some into the Bus and others elsewhere


RAH has a chance to go from zero to hero in the pilot world. However, BB, WH, and Henson are a crafty bunch and the f*^king RLA makes it tough.

"Moved west coast flying"? Are you implying that RAH was doing west coast flying prior to the F9 acquisition and now F9 is doing that flying? Are you talking about the MKE -> west coast flying that you have been doing for a month?

F9 Average days off hover around 17, with some 20 day off turn lines and some 15 day off scrambled lines with two and three day sequences.

The line award is usually where life changes between regional carriers and "the next logical step" in an airline pilot's carrier. We have a significant amount of flexibility with our schedules once they are awarded.

Yes, I am implying the MKE west routes that are now flying on the Bus. Not pissing in your cherrio's but how long HAD you been flying from MKE to the west coast? About 1 month now.

This was not a dig on F9 just a question, some of you guys imply that life here at RAH sucks. I can't say that is does, and judging by average time off you guys get slightly more time off, and a ton more flexibility I guess.

I am curious, what is your best case and worst case scenario regarding the impending SLI?

FWIW, I assume that you believe that no F9 pilot want's to fly a 135-190. Therefore, your worst case scenario is basically status quo.

What is your pie in the sky scenario?
