First, if you're going to get all "Grammar Professor" on me then perhaps you should check you own posts for typos before throwing stones at me.

Watch this - it's something I have yet to see you or anyone else positing the same arguments as you are do:

You got me! I absolutely butchered that as I was trying to type before heading out the door to work. Nice catch!

Second, you will have a very hard time going through this thread or even the entire forum and finding a post where I supported ACORN. I simply pointed out that the Church brings in WAY more people for the right than ACORN ever thought to bring in for the left. That is a fact and you cannot dispute it.

Okay, I'll grant (without bothering to research) that you haven't supported ACORN, you've certainly hung your hat on defending them. It's your choice to associate your character with such an organization.

Let's also grant your second contention. So what? Are those people legally entitled to vote? If so, then it's a non-issue. ACORN is quite happy to register those who have NO RIGHT to vote. I would hope you can discern the difference.

Third, you've made a couple references now to my "Current Position" being Super Genius. That is a reference to my avatar and not me so settle down out there.

Yes, I actually got that (I'm a big Wile E. fan), I just chose to bust your ba!!s over it (since it fit in so well with your previous assertion about your intelligence).

In subsequent posts you continue to hurl vitriol at others who don't share your narrow views, simply because you are "angry at the right." Perhaps you should look beyond the stereotypes which those on the left throw out about "the right." Not everyone on the right is a Republican, in fact many who consider themselves on the right are VERY unhappy with the Republican party. I personally feel very disenfranchised and associate with neither party as I feel they are both terribly corrupt.

Yeah, nice reply. Yet there you are with a picture of our president with the word "NOPE" on the side. Where does that leave us?

Hey now, can't I have some fun showing my frustration??? Okay, I understand where you are coming from. My point with the psuedo-propagandist presidential "art" comes as a direct response to our President's constant image campaign. The original version of this came with the "HOPE" - and was in different, "soft-American colors." I just happen to like this version better. I think it's in poor taste to paint propagandist pictures everywhere. The job is not about a person, or cult of personality.

Eight years of Bush taught us to follow lock step behind our leader. I'm sure of it because I recognize those same people now telling me to paint a Hitler mustache on the Presidents image.

Again, Not a Bush Guy Either! Yes, I voted for him (twice... gulp). But I was appalled at some of his policies in the last three years.

I conceed you and I want what's best for our country, but I'm certian the right wants what is best for corporate profits.

Don't think right v. left... Corporatism can be as tyrannical as Communism. I would say, and using Jonah Goldberg's thesis... we are on the road to fascism. And I don't dig on that either...

PM me if you ever come through N. Tejas... I'll buy you a cold beer (stands for anyone else too). I may talk your ear off though.

Tristar... thanks brother. I'm still learnin' all of this as we go along.

I conceed you and I want what's best for our country, but I'm certian the right wants what is best for corporate profits.

There is no right and left anymore, It's mostly all left, Thank god their are Americans waking up to this fact and are starting to realize that freedom is paramount to our futures.

As for the "right Left" wanting the best for corporate profits Do not be fooled into thinking the left left wants the same thing....Who the hell else will pay for all the programs you want? Who else will provide the Jobs??? Who else will provide the Billions and Billions to keep the Left Left and the right left in power??

I want Stuart Smalley out of the senate seat he stole with the help of B. Hussein Obama's former employer, ACORN.

And I want public health care. Let's see who get's what they want.

And I want public health care. Let's see who get's what they want.

You will get it Mr. Glass you will get it, and when you do you will not be happy with it one bit....I personally have lived under 2 separate "Govt health care" plans and will tell you it is not very good at all! I hope you are hear 3 years from now......we can see who was more correct.

But again those who love freedom and live up to the responsibility of taking care of themselves are becoming less and less numbered while those that like to be sheeped around and being told when, how and which way to live are the "new" believers.....same as the old believers just trying the failed policies of countless failed countries throughout the decades.

Glass, GOVt RUN ANYTHING NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER WORKS WELL!!

Social Security
Medicaid
Medicare
IRS
Post Office

ETc ETC etc etc......
"In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'" [Dosteovsky's 'Grand Inquisitor']
....GOVT IS THE PROBLEM not the answer Glass!

Fascist ethics begin ... with the acknowledgment that it is not the individual who confers a meaning upon society, but it is, instead, the existence of a human society which determines the human character of the individual. According to Fascism, a true, a great spiritual life cannot take place unless the State has risen to a position of pre-eminence in the world of man. The curtailment of liberty thus becomes justified at once, and this need of rising the State to its rightful position. [Mario Palmieri, "The Philosophy of Fascism" 1936]

This thread reminds me of that Halo video a few years ago.. "Welcome to the Internet."

What's all the fuss, nothing has changed since Obama, and nothing will. If McCain had won, things would still be as they are. Even healthcare reform will look just like it would with a republican in office.

I think I agree with what you are saying about healthcare. My opinion is [I realize nobody asked for it but here it is] that as long as the trial lawyers own the Democrat party, and the insurance companies own the Republican party, we won't get any meaningful health insurance reform.

I do think that things have changed under Obama, though, and not for the better. Look at our debt as a % of GDP: Obama has managed to up the ante thrown down by the fiscally reckless GWB. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Clinton [1994-2000] has been our best President since Reagan. And Al Franken should be a poster child for a movement to repeal the 17th amendment.
