Tax NJA and the other fractionals appropriately

WTF does that mean?

What do you think is "appropriate" tax for a fractional carrier beyond the fuel tax (which at $0.218/gal is 5 times higher than the airlines' $0.043/gal fuel tax) that they already pay?

46% of total net. About what airlines pay. Fractionals have a long way to go to make up for not paying Federal excise tax for the first 10 or so years they flew.

It's not that the fractionals pay too little in taxes....The airlines pay too much in taxes....

Don't airlines largely pass the cost of most taxes through to passengers?

Yes they do...but it hurts the bottom line as that either cuts down on loads, or comes out of money that could go to the bottom line....The airline industry is taxed more than any other industry and it affects the bottom line....

We are ALL taxed too much....It's time to reign in the federal govt....Spend less...

2002. Gordon Bethune stated airlines pay a higher tax rate than cigarettes or booze. He would know.

Most analysts don't disagree it's well over 25%.

We all pay too much in taxes, I agree. And I think govt should spend less. But for purposes of this argument: we could also fix the air travel part of this by charging fractionals the same tax rate the airline pays. Poof! The royal barge turns into a royal pain and the airline gets some customers back.
