If Hooters only hires young, good looking girls (and only girls), why the hell do the airlines keep on hiring such old dogs?
Its insane!
Even if the airlines served propper meals, most passengers wouldn't be able to eat them after getting a look at the F/A serving them!
They should make them wear the same outfit that arab women wear, so we wouldnt have to look at them!!!

I say put them all on 5 year non-renewable contracts. They don't even cook food anymore; it's nothing more than a three week course stretched out to six weeks to make the Fed's happy.

Once they're done, give them some college credit scholarships so they can get a real job!

Sorry folks, FA's aren't there for our or our passenger's viewing enjoyment, nor are they there to be submissive to sexual harassment. They should be and are more than Hooters girls that know how to open a cabin door.

They sure as hell are not there for safety. Unfortunately at one point they proved they could open a door and now the airlines can't get rid of them.

Who cares anyways?? Just get rid of the old, fat and ugly ones. Why is it all the other airlines around the world have classy ones. Virgin, Singapore, Thai, Korean, Emirates...... why can't we in the US step it up out there on this front. I refuse to believe we're lacking talent in that department. Just rock up to South Beach and recruit away!

Once again, you get what you pay for. At my airline starting salary is about $16000 if you don't spend the entire year on reserve... Why do it when you could make twice that easily in numerous professions? Because you are already retired from your first job, have a spouse that makes decent money, and are basically doing it for the travel benefits not the pay. That basically describes half or more of today's cabin crew.

Nope, not at all...it was just a point that FA's aren't just your little sex kittens and we really do things proactively and reactively for safety. I actually had an Inflight Mgr at one of my past airlines say, (when I refused to fly with a drunk pilot) "well, remember, you only need to be concerned if something goes wrong." As in, "well, as long as nothing goes wrong, you can just serve your Cokes." To which I hauled out my FAM and asked them which part of my pre-flight I should skip.

Since your bring up Sully et al, the entire crew excelled in their actions. I find it sadder that there are so-called professionals who ridicule the actions of the "B" FA on that flight and accuse her of trying to open the door (which was erroneously reported in the media) "blaming it on a non-existent passenger" and consider it "dumb-luck" that everyone got out and that she was essentially a liar.
