Two things, first how do I put Brownto the bone on my ignore list (god I hope he is not at my airline) and two, why is this a bad thing? Do two wrongs equal a right? The basic principle is that we should be judged on our merits, not color of our skin! By giving an advantage to ANYONE because of race color or creed is discrimination. I have a dream......... something about equal rights, fairness and a lack of discrimination. Just because you are not white or not male should not give you a higher priority at getting a job! Think people! I did not bother to read the rest of the posts.... I am sure this posting has gotten about as rediculous as that cop and professor deal. Which by the way, if I had a neighbor who called the cops on me while I tried to get into my house I would be happy. That means someone cares enough to be watching my house. Oh adn by the way, I have no love of cops but I do respect their job and what they have to go through.

hey brown to the bone....why not go to alpa and require an adjustment to the sneiority list....... something along the lines of "hey I think we should have some affirmitive action around here to make things equal. Lets say that at the top 25% of the list there should be 50% minority. THat would make things better around here. make everyone happy since now things are equal! Anyone who thinks affirmitive action is fair can kiss my A$$! I am white, so what! I grew up with no special bennies, I grew up in a poor area, I grew up with a single mother, I grew up with a family that got that terrible cheese and bread and was happy. I paid my way, I paid my dues, I served on active duty army for 7 years and saved to get my ratings and worked my butt off to go to school. All to be hired at a regional and hear punks like you say that I am racist for thinking affirmitive action is a joke! Screw off and work for your rewards. You should beleive that your MERITS account for anything you have gotten in life. I would quite out of pride if I was taking something from someone because I was white. Give me a break! I had four best friends while on active duty, one of which was a black guy. I did not see him as black, I saw him as a friend. But by your accounting, I was racist because only 1/4 of my best friends were of color, not 1/2!

There are many ways/programs/laws that "protect" minorities... I can't wait till Latin America takes over this country.
