you are correct.Skywest isn't furloughing because they are NON union. ASA is furloughing because they are union.

here is a connection for ya'.....alpa's unnecessary delaying of reaching a contract agreement directly leading to the diversion of -900 deliveries to Skywest Airlines and possibly Pinnacle.I really don't see the connection with furlough or non-furlough and being union or not. But, believe what you want. I wll be PMing you later this fall when the other shoe drops. Until then, have a good Summer!
From someone who works at Go-Jets!! I love it!Skywest is the best regional out there. They are the elite. Even their skymag has a section in the back about how they hire the best pilots and well trained pilots with thousands of hours of experience. I'm just waiting till they get their first Airbus or 737 so I can join, though I think it looks like RAH will be the first one to do that.

But hey, I know, thats comparing apples to apples. Not fair, I know I know.

WADR, those planes were going to Skywest, anyway. Nothing was going to change that--Union or no Union.
Really? Do elaborate.
That wasn't my view of the situation. Do you have information otherwise?
ASA was something like last place in every major performance statistic. We were so bad that certain carriers that SKYW, Inc. was shopping us to didn't want to do business with us. There was no way that we were getting those 900s, it was just all a ploy to try and get the pilots to cave.
Now that the performance statistics are much closer between East and West there's little reason to automatically exclude ASA from new flying, as evidenced by the recent 900s coming to ASA.
The deal that was finally reached could have been reached at least a year earlier....It wasn't until we dropped the big 700 payraise, Bfund retirement, 100% retro, and status quo instructor sections....that an agreement was finally achieved....That delay hurt us....
Keep telling yourself that....Jerry was playing poker with a better hand....ALPA thought they had more power than they did and it cost us....
