This argument has been beat to death time and time again. West says that they bought East, and East says they Bought West. I will say that West was in better financial standing, "but not by far", and if it were not for outside investors to put up the Money to "MERGE" the two airlines together when they did, "Both", carriers would be bankrupt and perhaps not flying today. I will say that it is very interesting what Logo is painted on the side of the airplanes. The easties are required to be reminded who purchased them.
Yeah they were both dying anyways...
I like your choice in guitars, by the way.

AWA was in much better financial position than Airways at the time, You are absolutely 100% correct in that statement. You also had Money in the bank at that time, you are also 100% correct in that statement.Proof please on AWA dieing, or is it just innuendo and conjecture? In May 2005 AWA had a decent amount of cash in the bank, paying off the ATSB loans, was making money Since Q2 or Q3 of 2003 (I believe that is correct), hiring new pilots, upgrading pilots at year 6+, getting new airplanes, and adding new cities. Further, they finished a contract negotiation with the AWA pilot group at the end of 2003 that was to be the first post 9/11 contract that had many improvements.
You just can't argue with facts.
