That's one thing I don't like about Airbuses, they need to be painted silver to simulate metal. Anyone know why?

Because European aluminum doesn't color coordinate. An aluminum airplane (ala AA) would look like a patchwork quilt.

Serious? Sounds plausible. Would look pretty fugly.
