As a Falcon driver I am ashamed to have to ask this question but........will a giv-sp make LIRA (Italy) to KTEB, 8 pax? Thanking you humbly in advance, G21aGoose

yep, it was. it was a nice day and clear all †he way down from Newfi. we thought about bailing out for Bangor, but decided to press on. not sure i would do it again. it was back in the early 90's.

Aww...the 90's. When landing with 20 minutes of fuel was an acceptable practice. ;) Kind of reminds me of Kramer in a Sienfeld episode.
 
Yeah, I get nervous with anything less then 3000 lbs, does that make me a pu$$y?
 
No problem in a 450. If you want to stretch her out a little longer and be a man, taking her up to FL450 will definitely get ya there, even at .84.

Unfortunately the 450's are too pricey.........but let's just wait and see.........
 
Longest flight I ever did on a IV-SP was 10 hours flat. Miami to Milan. 2 Pax. Landed with 2600 lbs.

Must be well below ISA over the N.Atl.

That and you have to be 25,000 lbs. under MTOW AND at .83 for an ISA day. AND no headwind...

EINN or KBGR for me.

what are you saying? you won't extend the range doing m84. we are talking about a g450 not a g550. please clarify

I don't speak PlaneView, but I do know the GIV pretty well. The airplane is very happy (and fuel efficient) at .80M. LRC is a moving mach number, so once you reach the coast out point LRC really isn't an option. At FL450 you might get .82M or .83M - if you're in MCT. Of course, then your fuel burn goes up...well, you get the picture.

The other issue coming from Italy (or anywhere in Europe) is being able to take a full fuel load. My experience in LIRA / LIML / LIPZ / LFMN - etc. has shown a top off will only get you about 28,500# due to differences in specific gravity of their Jet-A. So, be careful going westbound. If you flight plan assuming a full fuel load, chances are you're not going to get it.

that will leave you approx 2500 lbs in Teb, if you allow for 29K fuel at Lira. So, yes it could be done.

OK, so I'll mea culpa on this...

should be FL 450 even at 0.80M assuming 68% headwind probability at ISA of 24-29 kts. You'll still make it.

Thanks 2EASY, nice to see the numbers. I have seen 900EX's for 25-25mm now and even EASY's way under 30mm but we're looking at sub-20mm- we'll have to wait and see.

Whoa...my longest leg on straight GIV was 8+45, landed w 4400. Anything 9+ is a fuel stop in that airplane. Call me a pu$$y, but it is simply not worth it.
