To talk to a customer service rep!
They were talking about it on Fox this morning. They interviewed the former CEO of SWA as to why they would do such a thing.
They weren't clear on whether it was a CS rep on the phone or at the airport.

Either way. If you're hurting that badly for money, shut the airline down.

The term "customer service rep" is vague enough that it could be defined VERY loosely. Imagine the chaos that would ensue if they defined gate agents, ticket agents, skycaps and flight attendants as CSRs. I could see some weasely bean counter dreaming that one up while sitting on the crapper.

I agree.
I could just see the gate agent with a credit card swiper, taking peoples credit cards and swiping them before the pax is allowed to ask the question.

But I think right now it's only for reps on the phone. I'm sure they'll just ask for a credit card before asking the question, like Microsoft does.

Most of the airlines are charging for bags...been doing that...so they should shut down...all of them? in your opinion?

Think

I thought all of this was BS. But rode on US AIR last month and watched as just about every passenger had no problem paying $2 for a soda and $1 for water and coffee. I was shocked. If you charge them they will pay!

Just up the ticket price and include all this stuff, then the passenger will be less like to bitch about being nickle and dimed to death.

$25 for the 2nd bag is a fine idea. People over pack these days, taking 3-4 bags per person. When I was a kid, I never saw people pushing carts around the terminal because they have to bring their whole house with them.

Up the ticket price and increase customer service. You might be suprised that the passengers will pay for it if the service is good.
