Can someone answer these questions?

What type of Hotels do you guys stay at?

Do you get a rental car? If not, can you get reimbursed for a taxi?

What about Laundry and dry cleaning, can you have the hotel do your laundry and write it off on expense report?

Who pays for the uniform?

What about airport parking?

Tips?

Do you have to submit receipts?

Marriot and Hilton properties, typically.

Yes we do, but you can take a cab if you prefer. Either way, the company pays.

Hotel laundry is a big gamble, you won't get it back the same day, and we usually don't know that we're sitting somewhere that long. Use the coin-op machines. Company pays for dry-cleaning ...$50/month. Expense the $2.00 for laundry in the hotel if you want...

Who pays for the uniform?

Company does.

What about airport parking?

Company. Economy lots please.

Tips?

We love them! (and we're reimbursed when we give them)

Do you have to submit receipts?

Yes.

Basically, if it's an expense you incur as a result of being on the road, the company will take care of it.

Thanks for the reply!

So if your on a 15 day rotation, how are you getting your uniform clean?

Can you make money on expenses to make up for some road entertainment?

You'll have to ask someone on that rotation to find out what they do. You can do laundry on the road, but giving it to the hotel to take care of requires 24 hours (usually) and we rarely ever know in advance that we'll be sitting that long. That's why I suggest the coin-op machines...that only takes a couple of hours.

What kind of entertainment are you looking for? And why can't you pay for it yourself? If you want to call it a 'line service tip'...just don't be the one to have a rule named after you!

Hope that helps.

I'm on the 15 day rotation, and you pretty much need to ask for a hotel that has laundry facilities that night. Hilton Garden Inn or Marriott Courtyard work well. Some full service hotels have laundry facilities, some don't. Like T-Bone said, leaving clothes with the hotel laundry is a great way to ensure you wont see them again until the next time you fly into that city. Not a good idea.

I'm not sure what you mean by making money. It sounds like you're asking about stealing from the company. Why would anyone risk a great job like this over a few ill-gotten bucks. That's just plain stupid. I hope that's not what you meant...

Unfortunately, I think that is what he meant. I dont think a good job is worth a few hundred bucks a month.

I have a question for you guys. How do you like it there? Are you staying busy? Is business good? I know you probably cant talk pay, but what about bennies? Thanks for any info.

I don't think that he's talking about stealing.

He's looking at this from the perspective of a per diem system where you get a fixed amount for expenses so those who live frugally on the road can pocket the difference while those who spend more might end up paying more than they are reimbursed.

Thank You LarryinTN<

For x-rated and Iflewjetz,

First Iam not a theif! and no, I was not asking about stealing from the company!
I have worked for several companies that handle on road expenses differently...such as Per diem and Hi/Lo system, I have also worked with a company expense report that allows you to claim 75 a day no questions asked..Being on the road half my life I learn to be frugal to accompany some on road entertainment and unpaid incidentals....
If your interested in learning about the per diem system I suggest you go to GSA.com and find answers to your ignorant statements!

I'll just put it this way. You need to turn in every receipt if you want to be reimbursed. XO allows you plenty of money to eat off of every day on the company card and pays you back for tips and such.

X-wind,

I didn't accuse you of anything. I said, I didn't know what you meant. We do not have a per diem system here, and it seemed you were aware of that. We are simply reimbursed for legitimate company expenses, and manipulating the expense system to "make money" is stealing.

Since you have worked for companies that have per diem or some form of per diem, you are clearly not a thief. You were just operating within the guidelines of your per diem policy.

So, to clearly answer your original question: No, you can't "make money" to make up for other non company related expenses without lying, cheating, or stealing.

I'll pass on going to GSA.com since we don't have a per diem system, and I am already familiar with how they work. I am not ignorant about per diem; we just weren't talking about it. Speaking of being ignorant, statements don't generally require answers. You may refute statements, but not answer them.

Have a good day cap'n
