Starting in October the guy who builds the lines for Piedmont will also be building PSA's lines. I guess they are doing this so they could save some money.

Anyways, the lines came out last week and everyone thinks the pairings are pretty bad.

Basically to sum it up it, he put together a lot of flying that does not work well. 1 day trip get done early, followed by a two day that starts late - Most pairings have a lot more legs on back to back days then most people would like. I saw one that had 7 or 8 legs on the first day and 6 on the second with 9 hours of scheduled rest into a 4 leg day and a 5 leg day on the final day.

The lines come in 3 flavors this month too.... 12 days off, 13 and 14. Yippee!

I was just wondering what the Piedmont guys had to say about their schedules and if they have had any problems with this guy. Feel free to PM me too.

Thanks!

Welcome to PDT scheduling!! 4 days on, starting in the AM on the first day to finish in the late PM on the last day, is nothing new here at EN. Neither is a two leg one day trip, followed by a four day, with six legs somewhere in there (possibly twice or more)

Just recently, there were some eight leg days in the PDT lines. At least one of our days during a trip will be six legs long.

Mainline is taking flying off of the 50 seat RJs when possible so the fuel-efficient Dash can fly those trips instead. So we got that going for us too.

I just bid for Oct. The highest line has 16 days off and is still blocked at 87 hours of flying. The lowest line is 13 days off with 87 hours block.

Enjoy!

Welcome to our world! For the most part our Schedules are good if you live in base! So basically that means they pretty much suck.

Our Company is pretty good however on giving us long rest periods. But if you are a commuter a 4 day trip could become a 6 day.

Day 1 start at 6am, and finish day four at 9 or 11pm with a 18hr layover in wonderful FLO by I-95. You have to commute they day before and day after. Ouch!

If Piedmont is doing your schedules don't look for an improvement at all.

Weird variety of rest in lga this month. 9 to 20 hr overnights... Many crummy lines next month for commuters. One on, two off, one on, two off... WTF??

That guy is a motherless ******************************....

One of the reasons I have very little hair left....

CLT based FO here and I just submitted my bid. Many of the 700 lines were great for commuters but the 200 lines were god awful. Tons of layovers in base where we have to pay for a hotel, lots of continuous duty overnights squeezed into regular lines, and way too much 4 days on 2 days off.

We'd have plenty of months like that with the line builder of old though.

Perhaps one should be happy to have a job and not be jobless? :) Wild concept, bet the 76 on the street would take any of those lines. Fly the damn thing and stop your bitching!

200 lines are probably god aweful because they do the short runs. I remember when we first got the Dash 8 300's....... CLT-FAY CLT-GSO CLT-GSP CLT-CAE CLT-RDU all those 20-30 minute runs suck.

You fly 6 legs and still only manage like 5.0hrs of pay. I don't miss those days!

Did they give you PSA guys a "bonus" one day after a four day trip?

That Piedmont scheduling quirk is one of my favorites...
