Straight from the mouth of SH. The displace bid was cancelled because they are currently understaffed on that plane. Not to ramp up for any certain future airplanes.

I can do better than that. Had a FA ask me to make a PA telling the pax that there was turbulence in the area, and that the FA would have to remain seated for the duration of the flight. She didn't feel like serving on that flight.

Not to get all cheery, as we are all skeptics, but one of my FA's yesterday was moved this month from training on the ATR to the 700 as procedurally, it operates the same as the 900. This is in anticipation of new airframes. Nothing set in stone yet, but it sounds as if Delta is going to allocate those 900s to several DCI carriers, not just one. Apparently the company is not saying anything to us until it is official, at the risk of getting hopes up. Until it's set in stone, it can all fall through.

Maybe a long shot but CR7 displacements were canceled today. Sounds like something fishy is going on to me. All the Crj-700 guys have to do to fly the 900 is watch a video or something? Thats why you didnt see the Crj-200 displacments canceled. Just food for thought......

I have heard rumblings like this too. I suppose whoever gets these airplanes will not be as big of a deal as people on here make it.

I, for one, would rather have no 900s than have 900s have shrink the fleet further. It sucks losing the ATRs, but no reason to make it worse just to get a new airplane.

You know after they announced that they were no longer coming to Comair I thought this was one of the main reasons. Figured they would shop them out to anyone who would be willing to give up 50's for 900's.

I completely agree, however, those were not the circumstances in which she was moved over. She was on a line this month on the ATR, and was taken off and moved to the 700 to start, as she said "anticipation for the 900's". I'm not one to run off on the words of our FA's, but that, along with everything else this past weekend, really seems to make some (dare I say it?) logical sense.

No prize here folks. SH told recurrent today that ASA wasn't getting the Freedom 900s. We are putting the program in place so that if Delta presents them we could have them flying within 60 days. The cancelled displacements were to fill the shortage of 70 captains due to an increase in block for Nov/Dec. No reason to cancel flights due to crew shortage. And hey, the EFBs might be back on! If only the FAA could help pay for them!
