ALPA....

I'd rather be ALPA than not, but I won't pretend like ALPA is this perfect flawless fairy (which it isn't).

That's exactly how I feel. I gave ALPA my heart & soul and was very saddened and saw the light when I saw what they did to the US Air Express pilots with the Jets for Jobs program, as well as what they've done in letting one regional after another get hosed.

All I care about is....when can I expect a new billboard on Airways?! I check it every day in hopeful anticipation, only to be disappointed to see it's still the same one.

ALPA didn't "hose" anyone on J4J. Every pilot group that participated got to vote on it themselves. It wasn't forced on anyone.

They were man-handled and the whole J4J proposal was the US Air pilots' idea to begin with - super seniority for 6-month US Air pilots against pilots with 10+ years at Piedmont.

The US Airways Express pilots were forced into capitulating or losing more jobs and aircraft. Yeah, that's like a 3rd world country's version of "free elections" with the warlord's thugs with guns watching you vote.

You seem to proclaim your expertise at a whole lot of places you have never worked.

Where do I profess to that? Where do I profess I'm an expert in anything? I was an ALPA member at the time. Every regional pilot should have been sickened by what happened over at US Air at that time. So what. I thought you were the jack of all trades.

What have they done for us on the regional level.....NOTHING. PNCL ALPA SUCKS. SCREW THEM.....I WANT OUT.

I agree with you that ALPA isnt really doing the best job out there...nor is it the best thing since sliced bread (which you all have to admit...kinda kicked major a$$!), however, what the point of ALPA is is that it's airline pilots working toward a better future...you dont like PNCL ALPA...join it... Get voted in and change something...or at least see what it's like on the inside.

PCL is correct. UAL wanted us to do this at AWAC, and we politely (hell no!) declined. No one forced us to take it.

Peace.
