RESUME

GEORGE W. BUSH

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Washington , DC 20520

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Law Enforcement:
I was arrested in Kennebunkport , Maine , in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.

Military:
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam .

College:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:

I ran for U.S. Congress and lost.

I began my career in the oil business in Midland Texas , in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas . The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money.

With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas .

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS :

I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union .. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America .

I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.

With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida , and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President of the United States , after losing by over 500,000 votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleezza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President.

I am the all-time U.S. and world record -holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. history, Enron.

My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.

I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history. I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

I changed the U.S. policy to allow convict ed criminals to be awarded government contracts.

I appointed more convicted criminals to my administration than any President in U.S. history.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States Government.

I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. histo ry.

I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

I refused to allow inspector's access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.

I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 US election).

I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.

I set the all-time record for most da ys on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.

I garnered the most sympathy ever for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of mankind.

I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. Citizens and the world community.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families in wartime.

In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends.

I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.

I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.

All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review. I specified that my sealed documents will not be available for 50 years.

wave, I don't have the time or the patience to respond to each of your non-salient points. I got down the list, realized that this was a biased, dishonest attempt to make a point/joke.

Additionally, I am glad he supports or did many of the things you think are negative. (can I get a Bunker Busta! What What!)

I have better things to do, so I'm going to do them. Swim with me bebe, go see the new Batman movie, make homebrew. I'm not gonna check this thread til I'm back. (don't try to spoil the movie, mate!)

Cheer up, your envisionment of Satan will be gone soon. I predict that his legacy's stock will only increase, just as Reagan's did. The future is not bright, in my opinion, but W has (mostly) taken steps that will be viewed as in the right direction, not the wrong.

Put this in your crack pipe and smoke it

What Bush and Batman Have in Common

By Andrew Klavan
July 25, 2008: Page A15
A cry for help goes out from a city beleaguered by violence and fear: A beam of light flashed into the night sky, the dark symbol of a bat projected onto the surface of the racing clouds . . .
Oh, wait a minute. That's not a bat, actually. In fact, when you trace the outline with your finger, it looks kind of like . . . a "W."
download
Warner Bros. PicturesThere seems to me no question that the Batman film "The Dark Knight," currently breaking every box office record in history, is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war. Like W, Batman is vilified and despised for confronting terrorists in the only terms they understand. Like W, Batman sometimes has to push the boundaries of civil rights to deal with an emergency, certain that he will re-establish those boundaries when the emergency is past.
And like W, Batman understands that there is no moral equivalence between a free society -- in which people sometimes make the wrong choices -- and a criminal sect bent on destruction. The former must be cherished even in its moments of folly; the latter must be hounded to the gates of Hell.
"The Dark Knight," then, is a conservative movie about the war on terror. And like another such film, last year's "300," "The Dark Knight" is making a fortune depicting the values and necessities that the Bush administration cannot seem to articulate for beans.
Conversely, time after time, left-wing films about the war on terror -- films like "In The Valley of Elah," "Rendition" and "Redacted" -- which preach moral equivalence and advocate surrender, that disrespect the military and their mission, that seem unable to distinguish the difference between America and Islamo-fascism, have bombed more spectacularly than Operation Shock and Awe.
Why is it then that left-wingers feel free to make their films direct and realistic, whereas Hollywood conservatives have to put on a mask in order to speak what they know to be the truth? Why is it, indeed, that the conservative values that power our defense -- values like morality, faith, self-sacrifice and the nobility of fighting for the right -- only appear in fantasy or comic-inspired films like "300," "Lord of the Rings," "Narnia," "Spiderman 3" and now "The Dark Knight"?
The moment filmmakers take on the problem of Islamic terrorism in realistic films, suddenly those values vanish. The good guys become indistinguishable from the bad guys, and we end up denigrating the very heroes who defend us. Why should this be?
The answers to these questions seem to me to be embedded in the story of "The Dark Knight" itself: Doing what's right is hard, and speaking the truth is dangerous. Many have been abhorred for it, some killed, one crucified.
Leftists frequently complain that right-wing morality is simplistic. Morality is relative, they say; nuanced, complex. They're wrong, of course, even on their own terms.
Left and right, all Americans know that freedom is better than slavery, that love is better than hate, kindness better than cruelty, tolerance better than bigotry. We don't always know how we know these things, and yet mysteriously we know them nonetheless.
The true complexity arises when we must defend these values in a world that does not universally embrace them -- when we reach the place where we must be intolerant in order to defend tolerance, or unkind in order to defend kindness, or hateful in order to defend what we love.
When heroes arise who take those difficult duties on themselves, it is tempting for the rest of us to turn our backs on them, to vilify them in order to protect our own appearance of righteousness. We prosecute and execrate the violent soldier or the cruel interrogator in order to parade ourselves as paragons of the peaceful values they preserve. As Gary Oldman's Commissioner Gordon says of the hated and hunted Batman, "He has to run away -- because we have to chase him."
That's real moral complexity. And when our artistic community is ready to show that sometimes men must kill in order to preserve life; that sometimes they must violate their values in order to maintain those values; and that while movie stars may strut in the bright light of our adulation for pretending to be heroes, true heroes often must slink in the shadows, slump-shouldered and despised -- then and only then will we be able to pay President Bush his due and make good and true films about the war on terror.
Perhaps that's when Hollywood conservatives will be able to take off their masks and speak plainly in the light of day.
Mr. Klavan has won two Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America. His new novel, "Empire of Lies" (An Otto Penzler Book, Harcourt), is about an ordinary man confronting the war on terror.

Bush = The old boys network.

By the way, for those who might not know this, here's some trivia.

Do you know why those who fit into the upperclass of society were called "Blue Bloods"?

Many years ago, to have a job working outdoors (field worker, farmer, etc.) meant that you were of the lower class and usually deemed less desirable.

During these times, women of this class held parasols and kept their skin covered from too much sun. Men of importance did the same, minus the parasol, of course. This indicated to others that they were of an elite class and were to be differentiated from the common man.

As most of you should know, unoxygenated blood is in blue (evidenced by looking at your veins). Well, since these folks of the upper class didn't toil in the hot sun like common folk, they tended to be pale and this was in vogue (my, how times have changed. - it s a sign of wealth to have a nice tan now). Pale skin more easily revealed your blue veins and so the aristocratic were labeled as being "blue bloods."

oh yeah- too liberal even for me.... just observing that many among us will be surprised in the next election. guys really believe their view of the world is the one everyone believes in.

I'll only say that W has been mostly wrong. Especially in deciding that it was worth $6billion in taxpayer money to not give UAL a $1.9billion loan guarantee and save employee pensions.... but you have a right to your f-ed up opinion.

Sorry - hard to be impartial when you are supporting the man who stole millions from all of us

What part of that post was incorrect?

Wave, I don't follow your "worth 6 bil" comment. I also cannot spot the logic behind "he stole millions from us." I think your UAL experience is obviously a subject that you cannot deal with rationally. That is totally understandable, and I am sorry that that happened. Honestly though, he stole nothing. Held the loan guarantees hostage to managements who would use it to bludgeon their labor groups I grant you.

I am not a blind follower. I willingly admit that in every instance W has acted in a way negative to my profession. But, like Caveman, and others, it is not the most important thing to me when I am in a voting booth. Remember Kerry flying around in a non-union chartered 757? He was a real ******************** to the crewmembers as well. There are few good options and ZERO perfect ones in a presidential election, or even primary for that matter. My man was one Frederick Thompson, oh well.

I just saw the Batman movie, and it was terrific. A great stand alone movie, but made so much more than that by its obvious attempt to explain the complexities and moralities that one faces when charged with acting in defense of free people. It is undeniably an attempt to enlighted those who cannot fathom the difficult and ugly decisions W has been forced to make while honestly trying to protect our sheeple.

You missed the point. Everytime the gubment starts regulating "a little" it ends regulating a lot. I want as little gov involvement as possible. Just let me make my own decisions and live with the outcome. I centainely don't need a politician to help and hold my hand.

Oh trust me, regulations are not there to hold your hand. It's to prevent corporations from squeezing and stealing every last penny from your own pocket. Or to prevent you from buying maggot-infested meat, or making sure the medications that you buy do what they claim they do.

A little consumer protection is a good thing.

Why is it at every election we get 2 canidates thrust at us and we the voters get to pick which one stinks the least. I for one am tired of voting for the least of two evils. When do I get to vote for someone I belive in?
Yep. It is picking the best looking one from an ugly family. In an extreme way, I think picking between Dem or Rep is like choosing between Hitler and Stalin. At the end of the day, neither one is any better and the commoner is still hosed.

Tweaker, everything you post about politics ends up trailing off into a "robin" like man-crush paragraph about Batman.

No you trust me. I don't need the gov't to tell me not to buy, sell, or eat maggots. Do you? Also don't need big brother gov't to regulate my tire pressure or thermostat setting. I can handle all that thank you.

Speaking of squeezing and stealing every last penny from my pocket; why does the gov't need to steal 14% of my pay check to insure my retirement. If Social Security/medicare is that wonderful why are we forced to participate? No evil corporation can force you to buy their product nor can they prevent you from producing a better product.

Are you saying that it is thanks to the regulations set forth by our all knowing, kind, and benovelent gov't that aspirin cures head aches.

$6billion is the amount that taxpayers are on the line for in subsidizing the PBGC for UAL's pension theft.

No- it's not emotional. And I'm not irrational. It's irrational to be faced w/ evidence upon evidence of corruption and incompetence and cronyism and still support that person. But hey-- at least you get to blow stuff up, right? Never mind all the deaths and mistreatment of our own troops before he got his act together and decided to do the surge.

rtwo- s.s. is mismanaged and i agree w/ you that that's terrible. But bush and his admin and supporters don't agree w/ ss- how well would you manage a program you disagree w/)

Bottom line- when faced w/ short term priorities and long term priorities- most americans are going to spend on short term ones. We do not think long term and the evidence is overwhelming. Sucks for you b/c you think you could do better- but it's the best policy for the whole country. Laws have to apply to everyone and i've met a lot of people who don't like taxes and ss- but then make a lot of bad decisions and use a lot of gov't services. Yes- many pilots included on that list.

You should want SS. might be all you have left if Mccain is elected.

Another thing to add to the list of things not to talk about in the cockpit.

That's the choice of computers. For all you Mac people... I selected a software/hardware package because it was the best available for what it does. This software only runs on Windows. So I built a Windows machine to run it on. It will not run on a Mac running Windows in boot-camp. So, I will not be buying a Mac. So please stop trying to tell me "anything you can do on a PC you can do on a Mac" because I can't. And while I'm ranting... I don't want an iphone (apple violated a trademark from cisco with the name) or an ipod. I'm really happy with my LG phone and my samsung mp3 player. So PLEASE STOP TRYING TO SELL ME ON HOW GREAT YOUR APPLE STUFF IS! I'm a grown adult and do my own research before I buy something or vote for someone.
Hilarious and absolutely TRUE! Apple fans are like Mormon missionaries!

Its because of gov't regulation that when you buy a bottle of aspirin , it contains aspirin.

Right because those devious corporations may just fill the aspirin bottle with say sugar. This kind of fraud would certainly be rampent if not for careful gov't supervision. A good busines practice too. Good for costomer satifaction.

Of cousre if we socialize the aspirin industry the gov't could force citizens to be repeat costomers.

So you think that SS is mismanaged, yet it is the best policy for the country? Was there a time when SS was well managed? When? By Whom?

Do the pilots you know that make a lot of bad decisions make those decisions so they can make use of the numerous gov't services? Not wanting those services (services I'm assuming are available only to bad decision makers) to go to waste.

Don't FICA payroll taxes hit low wage earners hardest since they are paid starting with the first dollar earned. Passive income is not subject to FICA is it? Aren't SS benifits taxed now? Don't SS/Medicare taxes go directly into the general fund? Was there a time when that was not the case? What is the corelation between the amount paid an benifits allowed?

Yeah kind of like how supplements are unregulated. When independent labs test them, many of them don't have any of the active ingredient that they claim to. "Snake oil" if you will.

Government regulation also ensures that when you eat a hamburger, there is a really good chance that it doesn't contain human fingers and mouse parts like it did prior to the Pure Food and Drug act.

Leaving private businesses to act ethically contrary to their economic interests doesn't work.

exactly.
there must be some order so that capitalism can prevail. government exists to slow and attempt to stop corruption-the only true enemy of capitalism. when you argue for no government- you argue for lawlessness

Rtwo- i'll do some research and get you those answers.

In the meantime-- i've been hearing the right-wing propoganda saying how obama will raise taxes on us (I think a lot of us are still living in the past.) According to the july 26th issue of the economist- taxes will remain w/in .7% in relation to gdp regardless of which candidate- 18.3% of gdp for Obama and 17.6% for mccain- post wwII average is 18% - the major difference is that the top 5th of wage earners (GUYS- THAT'S NOT US ANY LONGER) >$250,000 will see tax cuts under mccain- and be raised from 35%-39.5% under obama- while both propose cuts for the 98% of households earning under $250k Obama's cuts for middle class earners FAR exceed mccain for all class groups in the bottom 4/5's of wage earners. while mccain's largest tax breaks are for those in the top fifth of earners.

I CAN ONLY HOPE WE GET CONTRACTS WHERE WE CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TAX RATES UNDER OBAMA.

BUT IF YOU VOTE MCCAIN- YOU WILL NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF LEVERAGE.

If you want argue spending-- you'll have to look at our current president before i can be scared of obama.

Is there a right wing "How to think" checklist that wealthy parents give to their kids. I hate to tell some of you guys, but

a) we are hourly labor, just like the guys on the GM line.

b) many of us don't have to worry about high tax brackets because we will never earn enough to make it an issue.

c) the Upper middle class may be paying a few less percent tax than in 2000, but alot of airline pilots are making 30%+ less pay than 8 years ago.

d) If you don't like unions and contracts, then please call your CEO, tell him you would like to renegotiate whatever pay rate he thinks is fair, and also inform him that you would like to wave any contractual rights your contract gives you.

Also, never complain about QOL, pay, or rest requirements.

Some of the hard core right wing guys I flew with were the worst complainers about pay and QOL. I don't understand the mental disconnect there.

I believe it's called perceived elitism and wishful thinking, along with a good dose of self importance.

Or "new rich", where on a $ 18,000 F/O salary ,you buy that 92' lexus and rack up credit card and daddy debt to buy plasma screens and expensive clothes, then talk to everyone within ear shot about how worried you are about a tax hike affecting your income from ".........." (insert the name of whatever major airline name that your regional flies for.)

Then have the nads to spout off about personal responsibility and right wing values.

Usually the guys who start the preaching (religious or political) have some deep seated problems. Erectile dysfunction, toilet stall hand wavers, etc.

You guys are crazy if you think gov't oversight is doing a stellar job and keeping you protected. Their hands are WAY full and mostly have to look the other way with things. Aside from that, the politicians are beholden to the corporations that "help" them gain the power they'll wield over the respective particular interest. Hope for the best when it comes to government "regulation" of asprin or what have you.

There are a lot of bells and whistles out there folks; it's just that not all of them work. But hey, ignorance is bliss, what you dont know cant hurt you...blah...blah..blah. lets keep the public ignorant and happy with iPods and Reality Show competitiions. It just helps dumb people down even more. Convenience and lack of effort or work. Frozen dinners, takeout, pop a pill for this and that........... haha...

Jist:
Your gov't ISN'T proctecting you to the degree you might like to believe it is or how it represents itself. It's a false sense of security.

If you don't think government oversight does anything useful, then i guess that you would feel just as safe on an airliner in Russia or Africa as you would in the USA.

Im sure the airlines would pour out money on maintenance out of shear do-right-itis if the FAA wasn't constantly on their a$se$.

Tweaker, everything you post about politics ends up trailing off into a "robin" like man-crush paragraph about Batman.

If by "everything" you mean this 1st, only and singular event, then I guess you got me red handed. Feel free to search and prove me wrong.

If you had allowed my text to permeate your subcutaneous layer, rather then fire off an impotent challenge for me to find the fallacies in the rant, you would know that I refused to do so (provide examples). I don't attempt to convert imbeciles, I simply relish "tweaking" their false conclusions.
