Um, no. It's simply a date on the calendar. He or she says "ok, when did everyone know about the merger?", finds out the date, and that's what it is.

Nothing complicated about it. Lot's of precedent.

Nu

Which time? Didn't we say we were going to merge, then we called off the talks, then we re-started them..... Which time will he pick? Lot's of precedent, eh? Oh-kay........

Don't bother... As my son learned last time we went to the zoo, if you poke the monkey with a stick, he's just going to start flinging poop. At that point, it's the only thing the monkey can add to the conversation.....

You can't reason with stupid, and you can't unteach arrogant entitlement.

I can't believe you talk about your own side that way. And I thought the Easties at USAir were the only ones with entitlement issues......yikes.

Heyas,

Typically, when snapshots are used for integration, the lists on the date of "constructive notification" are used.

This date is usually the date the merger is announced, which was some months ago.

Nu

Actually snapshots, per ALPA merger policy, are taken at the PID which is the date the merger is either consummated or likely to be consummated. There has not been a PID established yet, but a betting man would do well if they said Date of Corporate Closure (DCC) would be the PID and trigger the snapshot. Nu you forget that the DOJ hasn't even approved this merger yet. How on earth do you think a snapshot has been taken?

From the ALPA merger policy:

1. Policy Initiation Date (PID) means the date on which the respective MEC Chairmen and the Executive Council determine that a reasonable probability of a merger being consummated exists or the date on which the Executive Council determines that a reasonable probability of a merger being consummated exists, whichever is earlier. Seniority list integration procedures will commence on the Policy Initiation Date. (AMENDED - Executive Board May 1998)

Was your mom teaching him that trick again....I thought I told her to knock it off!

You can't reason with stupid, and you can't unteach arrogant entitlement.

Then maybe you should learn to keep your nut drainer closed and STFU!

Wow. That doesn't even make sense. Please put a little more thought into your *ahem* witticisms. After all, if you can't add anything constructive to the discussion then you should at least be even slightly funny.

Standing by for the inevitable, "You mom thinks I'm funny" in 5....4...3...

FmrFreight....How's things? Notice how much 737 Pylt uses the term "nut drainer".....He is definately fascinated with that part of the anatomy....

He needs some new material....

Can you explain this comment? How is holding status quo "arrogant entitlement?"

We don't want your airplanes, your pay, your left seats, or your bases. How is wishing that we keep what we have an "entitlement?" How is being happy with our pay, seats and bases "arrogant?"

If anything we are shocked that you feel entitled to our aircraft, bases and pay on day one, plus demand a dynamic seniority system by which Delta pilots stagnate behind Northwest pilots until Northwest's pilots have advanced and then Delta's retirements pull them up further. Any recognition of planned retirements of DC9's is denied, despite the fact we all know it is coming and what the effect will be.

Really, I want to know. Defend "Arrogant Entitlement."

Not true. I believe Nicolau used January 2007 not the announcement date and even after the date of corporate closure and the PID. The date of the announcement is not as significant as as the date of corporate closure or the date of single operating certificate.
