You wanted a flowthrough with Delta when you were here, and many of us didn't....We would have been the furloughed pilots for those 6 years, instead of the Delta pilots....

tied to that would have been scope that might have mitigated a lot of those furloughs.. sure, not all, as 9/11 was a rare thing.. but to be honest, even in hind sight, I think the flowthru would have taken the wind out of the demand for growth at the regional level and forced growth at the mainline where the money and negotiation power of a larger union is.. today we're stuck with hybrids of what could have been and this economy is only aiding and abetting the bastards that are hell bent on taking advantage of us (pilots) to fatten their wallets.

Lets face it, the money Regional pilots work for, even at the 12 year CA level is disgraceful.. And we've allowed them to do it.. a strange combination of senior pilots at the Regionals along with the senior pilots at the majors (who don't care about the plight of the junior and mainline growth so long as they get their raise!)..

Oh well.. Hope all is well otherwise.. I'm onto furlough #2 myself and ready to return to real estate where I made real money! ..Oh, wait, that's gone too!

Thing is John, the passengers need to fly one way or the other... whether they fly on a 50-70 seat jet on ASA's certificate or a 70-120 seat aircraft on the DAL certificate is more in the hands of the unions and less in the hands of the managers or public... we sold out, we pilots did.. and now we're stuck with this ridiculous two tier system where nobody wins.

I certainly don't like McCain either-total froot loop. I think I will have to just go with the choice which will result in the slower march toward communism.....

-Honestly, the dude DOES look just like Curious George to boot!

-BTW-I will be clinging to my GUNS, RELIGION, and MONEY as much as I can-no matter who the next pres. is-honestly, they all scare me, just for different reasons......

the danger of voting McCain..

In this day and age, a job action at a major airline can have a catastrophic
effect on the aviation system and the consumer. The rest of the system
would have a difficult time absorbing the excess passengers and the system
could come to a standstill. While management and labor are affected by
this, both parties have contingencies planned in the event of a job action.
The consumer is the one most affected by this increase in labor actions. It
is family flying across country for their vacation, the daughter coming home
from college, and the son going to visit a sick parent who can not reach
their destinations because the unions have taken matters into their own
hands. In the case of pilots, these are people who, according to industry,
on average make $140,000 while working less than 80 hours a month. At the
same time, according to the most recent data in 1999,the average per capita
income was $21,281

Food for thought.....

I’d like to throw in my two cents…

1st I love politics, my interest, keeps me learning and debating. I must say, these candidates leave a lot to be desired. The democratic party is split and a mess… Someone needs to ask the hard questions. Change?.... Change what? Change, how. I’ve heard nothing. What about experience? How much experience is important.

Think about issues you care about before you cast your vote. Just some tope issues ideas. Aviation careers are important to us that’s for sure, but is it the most important? Families, mine is very important and I don’t want government telling me how to raise my kids. Government gets involved in too much in too many issues. Will my taxes go up? Can people afford it if taxes do go up? Homeowners are strapped now. Health care- how would they accomplish this change? What’s wrong with the current system? Are certain politicians actually trying to fix the system or make a name for themselves with voters? Why are health insurance prices so high? Attorneys? What were certain politicians before they took office? Who do they associate with? Gay marriage, do you want your kids learning about this in their classroom? Gun control, - should you be able to collect them or protect your home? Abortion? Is killing an unborn child ok? The war in Iraq, is it really keeping us safe, the economy, is it the current pres’s fault? Can one person control the economy? Oil prices, is it due to a world market or a local/national market? Again can one person control the price of a barrel of oil? Is it a refining shortage? How about the environment? Should we drill, or spend money on alternative/renewable energy? How about crime? Should we be tough or forgiving? And who all makes money when a crime is committed, or when a lawsuit begins?

Most voters have thought about or learned about these issues. Learn about both sides, make an educated decision. It seems like it could be easy for some to blame one person, or a group.

I’m not a Dem or Rep, Just food for thought.

I'm a right wing socialist.... A Pat Buchananite.. Pro-life & Pro-Union... Pro-Gun & Pro-Social safety net Pro Environment and Pro Military, Anti-War and Anti-Gay Marriage ... so which party is for me?

Ah. The only issue pilots are allowed to vote on is "their profession." As defined by you.

So you can offer your opinion and I cannot? or you are offended by mine?

Neither my happiness nor my livelihood is determined by my job. How pathetic for those pilots who fall into that trap. I didn't think you of all people were inflicted with SJS. It's just a job.

No its not a just a job. It s profession. Sorry to hear that you have so little value in it and yourself.

When the airlines shrink by half and most of us are out for good, I'm gonna remember the good times and move onto something better.

Guys like you just take what you can and when the prfession no longer suits you, you move on. Like a leach or virus.

Those who work to defend the profession have to work twice as hard to counter act the negative effects of the drain your bring...

America still rocks and is the absolute land of opportunity. Christ, reading your dribble you'd think we were in the great depression or something. Go talk to your grandparents and find out what real poverty, suffering and despair really is.

Those that lived in the first half the last century really did suffer.

There are many pilots who have started over in careers. for some this is their 2nd or 3rd shot after other careers dwindled to jobs. How many times should one have to start over?

If one wants to defend this profession.... is that ok?

Thank goodness it's one man, one vote. Pricks who run around looking down their condescending noses telling everyone else what's good for them make me sick.

So do guys that use this profession and treat it as a job till it no longer suits them then moves on...

If the airlines shrink by half you will have something akin to the Great Depression going on. If energy prices put this big of a hurt on airlines the rest of the economy will follow it into collapse.

Prior to the Great Depression the economy was booming and America offered opportunity for everyone. On October 24, 1929 that all changed.

For trying to destroy scope. For trying to bankrupt your own union. For trying to steal seniority from your fellow pilots. For trying to steal money from your fellow pilots. Need I go on?

I didn't try to destroy scope....I just want effective scope that doesn't exclude the union's own membership....

I didn't try to bankrupt the union....I just defended my job...The union is doing a fine job of bankrupting itself.....

I didn't try to steal anyone's seniority...I defended MY SENIORITY...something us regional second class citizens aren't allowed to do in this "association"....

I didn't try to steal any money....Again I defended my job against my "association"....

Please expell me for daring to defend my own job....I would appreciate it....

You tell me. Bush is the one always talking about the "war on 'terrah." Or maybe that's just his dimwitted hillbilly accent combined with his learning disability.

I will tell you. It's a dimwitted PFT'er Flying a right seat dinosaur proving with every word his grasp of reality is limited to calling people smarter than him dimwitted.

Why do you feel the need to list Mr. Obama's middle name? I don't see you using anyone else's middle name.
For the very reason you want to hide same!
