As of this hour, 18:30 MDT, both the NWA and DAL pilots are together discussing the pending merger. They are staying at the Stein Erickson Lodge, (5 Star of course) in the bar as I write this and laughing and scratching while spending your dues money for a good cause...I hope.

To bad they are so obvious to all the on lookers!

It's $185/nt this time of year. Pretty reasonable, IMO.
 
BTW, the most progress is always made at the bar over a few drinks. If the reps are laughing and drinking, then that's probably a good sign. Formal meetings are tense and sometimes downright angry, but work can get done at the bar.
 
All real Union business is conducted at the Cigar/Martini meeting AFTER the MEC has adjourned for the day.
 
Where is the Stein Lodge?

At Deer Valley---a ski resort in Park City, UT. Stein Erikson won a medal at some Olympics way back when, and he opened a nice lodge and ski skool.

The PWA will probably be done fairly quickly as last time. It is the SLI that will take months if not years.

It's easy for DALPA and NALPA to agree on the PWA, getting management to go along with it might be more difficult.

Considering the half billion alone in cross fleet synergies the company would save I'd say the leverage is on our side. My fear is we're asking far too little, as evident by that lack luster LOA Moak negotiated and the DAL pilots approved.
 
I think that you will see a bigger percentage pay raise this time around. This or a scale that allows for bigger pay raises for the life of the PWA. (Dependent on the companies financial performance) Kind of like our last one. Hopefully we will not put a stop gap clause in there that allows them to take back wages with poor financial performance.
 
How about better scope?

How about real furlough protections?

The junior guys couldn't care less about a pay raise when they're staring a furlough nose to nose.
