With the UAL and AWA pilots vastly outnumbering the AAA pilots in that combo, USAPA would be toast.

Then, let's all hope two things:

1. United merges with USAir.
2. They staple the uSAPa VOTERS to the bottom of the seniority list!

:smash:

It was to me.

I didn't get here soon enough to see AWA BEFORE the merge, but this I know: ALL THE WEST PEOPLE THAT I'VE MET DURING THE LAST MONTH AND A HALF (while training) HAVE BEEN GREAT!

Why would UAL Merge with US? What would they gain? More domestic Market share that is losing money? The only one making money domestically is Southwest because they are paying 51 dollars a barrel for 60 percent of their gas. Nothing against US but what is the gain here?

IMHO, CAL would do fine on its own. The company still has over 2.5 billion in cash and is facing no liquidity issues. While the LHR slots were expensive, I believe over the next year CAL will generate a profit from them. The lease terms for RJs are apparently very favorable for CAL, so the health of XJT is cause for concern. With 8 777s starting in 2009 and 25 787s starting 2010 (maybe), I really don't believe CAL is dependent on UAL for international widebody growth.

How about this...

Be break up US Airways into two pieces. AWA/US Airways again. One company takes the AWA portion, the other takes the US Airways portion. Now USAPA can deal with a larger group.

Ideally someone would buy or merge with the west operation and let the east portion just die off. AWA should never have aquired that sinking ship called US Airways.

That's not gonna happen, I realize...but I'd love to see that. These US Air guys are the greediest SOB's I've ever seen. I honestly didn't think this kind of behavior was possible...especially for an airline that was going out of business!!!

US Air guys: Don't bid PHX...we will make your lives miserable.

"Rest assured, if US Airways chooses to participate in any industry consolidation, we will do so because we believe it is in the best interests of our employees and our airline," he said.
HA HA!! that seems familiar..hmmmm

Yea those bastages don't want to lose their flying, can you believe the nerve of those sons-a-bumbs.
I dont think you have to worry about making their lives miserable as THEY DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN FLYING. I know that doesn't follow the West party line, so you can resume your being the internet bad azzes and make all the threats you want.

Oh yeah? There's over 100 east commuters just in California alone. You mean to tell me they wouldn't bid captain/PHX? I wouldn't "damn" our flying at all, it's actually a pretty nice place to fly out of.
