Missed the first 15 minutes...That appeared to be when all the information came out because the last 45 minutes I did not learn anything new.

More aircraft leaving the fleet, or were they the same ones previously announced?

Basically right now the fleet is around 130 a/c and they are talking about going from 115(not exact) 50 seaters down to 85 by 2009. Also going down 2 in the 70 seat category and ending up with a total of 14 in the 900.

These number aren't exact, but what I recall. They should be posted soon.

They keep saying that if we get our cost structure down that we will be more competitive for flying for other people. There can't be a single pilot at Comair that still believes this after we accepted the wages we are at now and have continued to shrink.

The only way to get more flying is if we are sold. Delta isn't going to let us do flying for other carriers unless Delta gets money for it.

Only important things I got out of this was:
A) We have bids out for flying from 2 or 3 other majors. No timeline when we hear about it.
B) We are too expensive.
C) We are getting the new Maestro scheduling system starting in April and Flight Attendants in the summer. It's a net based click and drag that brings us from 1979 to 2008. I didnt quite get if they were going to test it on the crews in April or it goes into full service in April. They said scheduling has been testing it behind the scenes for awhile.
D) Someone asked about new bases, specifically Boston. Soaper gave a half assed answer and said that since our BOS flying isn't gauranteed its not worth opening a base to close it two months later.
E) As Clarkgriswald said, they mentioned we are way to expensive numerous times.
F) Everything else was skillfully avoided and half-answered like good politicians.

Don't Forget

-Big improvement to the Ovation recognition program.

-Deadheading is actually more efficient and cost effective than an overnight at Best Western.

-Four and five hour sits in outstation terminals is an expected norm for anyone doing a hub and spoke operations.

AND

-We are still too expensive to be competitive
-We will continue to shrink to more profitability

This sound like the minimum fleet number that was guaranteed by LOA 2006. I no longer have access to the online contract. Maybe someone with access to it can post the minimum fleet number? I have a hunch that will be the actual fleet number.

It would be nice to see a pilot at one of these meetings tell management what they really think of the job they're doing!!

After he already has a class date somewhere else of course.

Before I left I had millions of ideas that I wanted to get of my chest. Especially to a certain short chief pilot that refered to himself as a good ole boy from Tenn. But I never got the chance, and my new gig doesn't airline me through CVG ever, so I may never get the chance..:uzi:
